can't really comment on that one, not one I've dug into, I will tell you that there will be no surprises for me if we find out things aren't quite what we've been told by the ole forked tongue devils at nasa though lol, that whole moon landing business sure seems fishy, and speaking on the moon, and every other star, that are always in the same place, only see one side, definitely more questions than satisfactory answers at this point but for me there are far bigger fish to fry currently, the liars we're now learning about at grand pace over the past 8 years, and just how big those lies are, the last 3 years it really ramped up, try to keep up folks and I wouldn't be forming too strong of opinions on this earth stuff, I'd approach this is a more 'wait and see' and ask your own questions, will leave that derail for others but best keep on open mind knowing what we know now, there's a really old book that's been around awhile that I'd trust more at this point than anything coming out from the narrative liars, will see how this post ages, I don't think we have to wait too much longer before we will get access to all that's been hidden from us

i don't care which way it goes, just want the truth, that's all the matters, it's what lets us move the right direction for humanity, we've been going the opposite direction and now we're finding out why, and who, and we're coming to terms with it, and it's hard, but we will move together and get after those who've always worked against humanity, it won't be pretty for those predators, once you see the scale of lies it's hard to trust anything they say, that's how it works with any liars, once the trust is gone...it's tough to get back, and you go down enough of these topics and you find out it's the same story, same liars
another thing about these discussions, common for those uncomfortable with the info to steer off into the weeds with other discussions and topics, anything to try and discredit a messengers and therefore the message to get the comfort back
but it's easy to see by just the last 3 years alone, one group was right all along, and the other group was manipulated by the old standard and trusted information sources were wrong all along, worse than that they were manipulated to hate those who had it right, so that can't feel comfortable and you don't want to ignore it forever and try to steer a discussion some sort of way to try and regain the comfort, the music must be faced, the big girl needs to sing, so that group that was right about everything the past 3 years you want to pay attention to, don't dismiss, keep digging folks, find out for yourselves who is/was really in a cult, it's not easy task breaking that spell and getting out of it, we will come together over this, that's a guarantee! same team, humanity

When I was in my teens the old ski hill here in the Comox Valley could get up to 20' of snow. Over the years the snow level has gradually decreased to the point that the ski hill was shut down. We have another ski hill now, Mt Washington, which has a higher elevation however the snow level is decreasing there as well. I have never seen as much smoke in the atmosphere here as seen in the last 10 years. Believe what you want, however I've witnessed the changes in climate and it's coming fast. Nothing will be done about it, it's too late. I'll live out my lifetime but feel sorry for the young ones coming up.

Not one of the climate change models that uses human being's affects on climate, takes into account volcanic activity and the gasses and chemicals, not to mention atmospheric particulate, that is blown across the earth by the millions of metric tonnes.

Yep, my grandfather used to skate on the Fraser river every winter. They used to run supplies by horse sled on the ice on the river to Fort Langley as well.
It’s not whether the earth has warmed and cooled before, it has, it’s the rate of change. The effects of greenhouse gasses are remarkably simple, and easy to understand and study. Doubling their concentrations in a century and change does not have nil effect. 100,000 years is a blink in earth’s history. 100 is a fraction of a second, to see these rates of change in that minuscule timeframe is the problem.
Earth will continue without us, it’s our choice how comfortable the planet is for our kids. 30x30 is a bare minimum initiative to protect wilderness, and a no brainer that can’t be credited to any one government or particularly Trudeau. That gives a former drama teacher far too much credit.
Eery part is, CO2 is just one factor, one of these easiest to study. Methane, CFCs, deforestation, changing of the surface albedo (how much energy land absorbs from the sun, by changing it from logging / paving / developing it), ocean warming all put their bit in too. I agree with those who say “everything’s normal” in that it’s a runaway train. I still don’t think that means don’t think about it or try, that’s like saying don’t vote.

Same strategy used for easy 70 years, it works, why change it, just ensure the people never get a chance to look back and start asking questions or the game is over. We literally just rolled through climate, Black Lives Matter, covid, vaxxed vs unvaxxed, now we're back to climate with war on the brink, you see? Like I said before- scientists were predicting another Ice Age by 2020 in the 1970's. It was on the cover of Time magazine, IIRC.

The difference between science and armchair opinion, is science is based upon observation and results and is altered only by more accurate observations. It’s open as a model to new information. You get a research paper published by what has been observed, not what you think sounds right or was on inforwars that made you pound the table.
As a species we hate not understanding. It’s easier to believe in a set of elaborate conspiracy theories, no matter how ridiculous when looked at in any depth, than to accept we’re not on the inside of the big secrets that run the world. Reality is these crazy ideas give way too much credit to people and organizations that can’t organize a fraction what they’re given credit for by their detractors.
Where are you on the moon landing, to gauge the depth of this line on conversation. It would have cost more to fake it, as everything was actually built and launched, all the hundreds of thousands of individuals from the base supply chain to Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, were real people who did real work. Statistically had it been faked, the secret would have been able to be kept for a handful of years at best due to the number of people involved.
But… you give up the illusion that you’re of a sharper thinking mind and not one of the sheep if you accept it. That’s hard for some to give up. The more complex the considerations (moon landings, astrophysics, climate, economies, political systems) the more prevalent the conspiracy theories. There’s a direct correlation between inability to understand, and grasping at simpler answers. Conspiracy theories have an incredible amount in common with the dark side of religion; seeking simpler explanations to make sense of complicated considerations.

In my days at the newspaper, I had a clipping from the 1920s New York TImes at my desk, talking about the ice-free sailing through the Canadian North that year.
And even if the trend towards global warming is actually happening, why should that surprise anyone? The world was once covered in ice.
