I want to sell my handgun but sales are only permitted by the government to 3 designated groups. Is there a place to post handguns for sale on this forum or another that would get exposure to this group? Its a small subgroup of shooters.

Im selling my brand new Glock 48 MOS (black)

You can get in touch with auctions like Switzer's or Kidd - I know they auction off handguns with only the approved buyers allowed to bid.

There was also a business or two here on CGN who were looking to buy... other than that handguns cannot be listed for sale here - not sure why since the CFO would have to approve any sales but it is what it is...

Should you go through the process to gain access to the Equipment Exchange, you will find that there is no EE section for handgun sales on CGN.
Olympic shooters aren't going to be interested in a G48.
There are businesses authorized to acquire handguns. Those involved in the movie industry might be interested.
Export is another option.

Kidd Family Auctions is holding a handgun auction on the 30th of June.

This is a rather unusual first post. Makes one wonder...

Olympic shooters have to apply to buy a handgun and it must be for their type of shooting.
Unless it’s a Hamerli - Walter - Pardini - forget it. Olympic shooters are supported by trainers and organisations, and I am sure those guys will help their shooters to go through the new rules. Because of all the new hurdles..it make senses to buy new for them.

For tacticool guns - right now - only dealers can buy and the other option is destruction. Very limited - narrow market of dealers who would want guns - tie up $ - for something they cannot sell thereafter.
Don’t expect a big payoff if you find a dealer willing to buy it..it will be below dealer cost..

Another option - sell it as a complete parts kit minus frame. I think you might get pretty close to what you would expect for a complete gun. You can keep the frame and certificate - in case you want to revive it later and rules would still be same as now - you can buy a full kit minus frame from IRunguns for the price of complete new gun and your Glock is back in business.

Ya dude your stuck with it. Olympic shooters won't want it. The chance of getting someone with an Authorization to carry to buy it is close to impossible. As shown below;

https://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/need-know-recent-changes-handgun-regulations

Effective on October 21, 2022

Under these amendments, a Chief Firearms Officer (CFO) will only be able to authorize the transfer of a handgun to an individual who:
a.holds an Authorization to Carry (ATC) issued under Section 20 of the Firearms Act and needs the handgun:
to protect the life of an individual or other individuals pursuant to an Authorization to Carry (ATC) issued by a CFO under section 20(a) of the Firearms Act; or
for use in connection with his or her lawful profession or occupation pursuant to an ATC issued by a CFO under section 20(b) of the Firearms Act.

or
b. has provided the CFO with a letter from a provincial or national sport shooting governing body indicating that the individual trains, competes, or coaches in a handgun shooting discipline that is on the programme of the International Olympic Committee or the International Paralympic Committee.

Applications to transfer handguns to individuals that do not meet at least one of these prerequisites cannot be processed; clients should not submit an application if they do not fall under one of these exemption groups.

Is anyone able to link to where it says certain businesses are allowed to buy off regular people with RPAL's? I see in the RCMP link above, that there is still an ability to get import permits through Global Affairs Canada. So clearly there is still a route to buy them, for say movies, or armored car employee's. But buy them of regular people? Where do I find this wording. I'll have to recheck the firearms act I think.

You won't find it explicitly stated. https://www.gazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p2/2022/2022-11-09/html/sor-dors219-eng.html

It's the lines in the act (or SOR as the case may be until the bill passes) that say the registration certificates are not to be issued to individuals. Businesses are not individuals, ergo... (Also a friend sold his last handgun to a business for export recently - transfer was approved by the QC CFO - was his last 12.6 too [sniff])

I think you are correct. There is no where in the firearms act that mentions transfer's to businesses. Just licensing of businesses. There is also no mention of businesses in the OIC, or on the RCMP Link I provided. If your saying your friend pulled it off, then that would seem to be the only possible option for the guy who started this thread.

Good luck getting access! Lmfao

Sell it on the black market. I'm told there is good money to be made.

Plus you will be doing exactly what your handlers want to happen anyways.

Obvious troll is obvious.
