24hourcampfire? Nope. Got it right here. Lol.

I’ve used all these 30 and 7mm cartridges to shoot game with except for the 300 WSM. But have used the Winchester Magnum in its place. I haven’t seen a dramatic, or even noticeable, difference in any of them. I’m guessing you have used them all as well and have seen it. Tell us about those experiences.

Uh oh. Now ya done it. I'm sure we're gonna see so many pictures of him and game he's taken that you'll be crushed.

Aaaannnyyy minute now...

To be fair, I know he has vast experience with the 280 AI. So I’ll start with a picture of game I’ve shot with it.

Kinda makes you wonder just why anything else is supposed to be better, again?

Can only get more gooder from longer barrels lol

Which is something you rarely see out of an ‘06 or .270, but more on the 308 side. Just the typical 22” barrelled factory units…

That's a good load. My "hunting load" for my 59 Belgian Browning is 57 grains of H4831sc with 180 Swift AFrames. You must be either just starting to compress or right on the verge of compressing with the lighter bullets. I've been up higher with the 180s to 60, that is compressing the powder some. Shoots okay, wasn't getting pressure signs, but she did bark. With that old girl it likes 57 grains with a 180 for the best group.

Cheers. Please publish how your 180's and 200's work out.

Sorry to hear that RJ. You can switch over to left hand. Lefty’s can function at nearly the same level as normal people. Just ask Chuck.

I have no favorite hunting caliber or cartridge, however the 30-06 is the best all-around cartridge for hunting North American big game. It's a very versatile cartridge, a hunter can use 125 to 220 grain bullets to hunt all big game. Ammunition is to be found in all types of stores in Canada and the USA. Yes, daily we hear about this cartridge, as the 6.5 Creedmoor, however it works!

The 308 is great, but the 30-06 is no good because the 300 WSM is faster. Brilliant.

well if the 300 wsm is faster than the 30-06 , is it not better for longer range ... dugh
or twist the 308 into this ..lol
I took a true shot at the 30-06 , slow in today's world

So where does that leave the 308 vs the 30-06?

It’s also interesting to note that LR accuracy disciplines often cap their case capacities around 30-06 case capacity thresholds.

Case capacity as a measurement of improvement is an ignorant argument. But it happens all the time.
