Sako A7 25-06

Hey look...it's a Tikka T3 in Sako clothing! Do yourself a favour and buy the T3....can you see the difference?....I sure can't, other than at least $200 for the name and more expensive mags.

Shot a couple on Friday and while there are some similarities to the Tikka, it's definitely a different animal. The stock is definitely more to my liking and fit me much better. Nothing wrong with the Tikka but I'd drop the extra few hundred to buy the Sako myself. I've heard varying report on availability...early summer for U.S. but not sure about Canada.

Pretty sure I can tell my Sakos apart.....Shot a 270WSM and a 300WSM.

so, how did it shoot? :D

It went bang when you pulled the trigger!

I never got to shoot any actual groups with it, just lots of long range silhouette stuff but it shot the heck out of them. Trigger is great like all Sakos and the gun just really fit me nicely and felt much better balanced than the Tikka and I'm a Tikka fan. I have no doubt the A7 will shoot a 5 shot MOA group as advertised.

I agree the A7 is much nicer to shoot than the Tikka. Both are nice guns but the A7 sure feels better to shoot. The fellow from the factory that was assisting me didn't speak English very well and I didn't understand Fin either!
Here we are discussing which target he wanted me to shoot. I had mistakenly thumped the 500M target and he was distressed that I would cherry pick something so easy. The A7 in 300WSM handled the 860 yard target easily once I compensated for the wind drift. This A7 wears the all new Burris with the built in range finder.
