Rocky Revolver boots.

I tried footjoy golf shoes with the same system and couldn't get them to fit just right. They seemed to go from not quite tight enough to just a bit too tight all at once.

Everyone I know who purchased Rocky boots regrets it...Two of my friends had the boot soles disintegrate a year after light usage. Letters to the company went unanswered, the interweb is full of Rocky Horror stories...

I had Rocky Cornstalkers for years before the soft cusion sole disintegrated. This new cable lace sounds like the same thing they use on some skates they sell at crappy tire, though I know of no one who actually tried them.

Some other company is selling them too, and someone here got a pair i think, and they really liked them.

I looked at buying those boots, but my worry was that the cable would break when I'm 10 miles form the truck, then I'd be screwed. There didn't sppesr to be any way to jimmy rig them after. Sure they're warranteed, but that doesn't help when you're 10 mines away in the bush.

I bought Irish Setters and I love them. No extended break in period. I wore them to the range for a day and they were good to go.

I would be more woried about not getting them off once the dial is coated in snow, ice and mud. Last thing I want to do at the end of a hard day in the bush is wait for my boots to thaw out or have to wash the crud out of a dial mechanism.

That is interesting as I wore a pair of the Rocky jungle boots in the late eighties to the early nineties and I never had a problem, although now I wear Altama jungle boots with Vibram soles (better lacing).

And as for the above posting recommending Danners, I had a problem with the Acadia's in that when-ever I put my foot in deep water and had to pull the boot off, the Goretex bootie came out with my foot, the same occurred with both the left and right boot, so I ended up giving them away to a fellow who wore them in town with no issues.

I found your experience with your boots very interesting as well. Perhaps 20-odd years ago they used good quality soles instead of the sub-standard offshore stuff of today.

The boots that I did have were made in the States and were very good quality indeed.
However I cannot comment on the quality of the modern Rockies as I have not tried them for some years.

I bought a pair of Rockies last year as back-ups. I ended up wearing them every day I hunted. Plenty of scrambling, some Muskeg, some snow and 1-5 miles a day. I think I got out for 20 days total. The boots were never an issue and they held up great. The cable system is retarded and others here, have pointed out some of the serious issues a gimmic like this can present. If I was living out of a tent, I would never take the Rockies as my boots.
