XCR pic in 7.62x39

lol, My good friend had a pe90. I never liked them (in the 20" non-restricted version) the CQB is nice, but would much rather have a 12" barrel for my XCR.

Ah!!! But the question is, would you still like that XCR so much if the AR-15 was classified as non-restricted?

Try as I might, I haven't been able to warm up to any RobArms products since the company basically blew smoke up the butts of every customer who bought an M96 with their promises of top mag feeds & belt fed conversions. Never delivered & no apology.

Then comes the XCR, which is supposed to be the cat's ass, but then I read of poor machining, lots of tool marks and hit or miss reliability. The way I look at it, the XCR is/was just another flavour of the day, that despite the long delay in hitting the market, was probably rushed a little too quickly for all the kinks to be worked out.

I'm wondering if once the novelty wears off a lot of owners will be moving on to other rifles. I find it interesting that a number of new, but lightly used XCRs have hit the EE & have been found on the racks of the better known gun stores. Considering the number of XCRs in Canada at present, seems like a disproportionate number of owners are trying to move their rifles.

For me, the way I figured it, if I'm going to buy, might as well buy the best and go for top notch quality up front.

To be honest, I wanted to like the XCR, I really did, but it just doesn't deliver IMHO. But then again, as you say, to each his own. If you're happy with it, that's all that matters!

Not really.. There is NO black non restricted 308 rifle on the market.
The Norc M-14 does not fill that gap.

My point is that comparing the CZ58 to the 7.62x39 XCR is the same as comparing the M-14 to the .308 XCR.

Where have you heard about poor machining and tooling marks and 'hit and miss reliability'? There are no tooling marks on mine, and the machining is very, very nice. The only knock I've really heard about it is the poor stock trigger (seems to be inconsistent between rifles) and many people not liking that the folder doesn't lock closed.

How much are they used ones going for? I haven't seen any myself.

My friends pe90 would jam more than my AR, was super heavy, with no rail, and rock-in plastic mags. not my cup of tea. I wanted to like the pe90, but found a better (imho) rifle for less $$$

I would take an xcr over an AR (with barrel lengths being the same, obviously my 14.5" AR is more compact than my 18.6" xcr)
