Could CCI Stingers Do This

yes, the crack was already there just small and with normal pressures, still held on, up to stingers and it let go. pot metals and cast have problems with voids and cracks. I watched a 3" thick delrin block 16"x15" bend up .5" on each corner during the first cut

It was my understanding that these rifles were made by Marocchi for Anschutz. I've had a few. Pot metal casting is used by more than a few manufacturers.

Yes, Anschutz certainly didn't build those rifles. I knew they were made in Italy, didn't know the manufacturer.
I actually have one of these, broken in the same spot. I had planned on machining some steel side plates and fastening them with screws and epoxy, but if it's really the dog Guntech says it is....
Anybody know how these things shoot(when they're not snapped in half)?
This one was broken when I got it.

Mine (3) shoot better than most semi’s out of the box.

A common failure. Stingers didn't help but it would have happened anyway.

This /\

I've had half a dozen of these rifles come to me with the same break point, as well as the issues noted by guntech.

I've also seen several of the pot metal framed lever action 22rf rifles with brokent frames lately

I'm not a fan of aluminum frames and that includes the Ruger 10/22 which is almost worshipped by some of their owners.

Ditto above. Used to find a LOT of Anny 300 barrels for sale at gun shows over this kind of failure. Poo sandwich to have to swallow, blowing up your gun!

They were Anschutz marked barrels, so a pretty good buy for the $10-$15 each I paid...

There are a fair few variations in die casting alloys. Seems the makers of that model did not chose wisely.

I have the later Anchutz 540 takedown. Great rifle and very accurate but it is rated only for standard velocity rounds (no stinger, no minimag, no winchester X, etc)

It's not jus Stingers; lots of receiver failures in this rifle. Try pinning and Epoxy to fix; you have nothing to lose: otherwise... Landfill. If you have mags, they sell for $80-100.

Good suggestion , just had enough fun with it and
sold for parts/others to a fine CGN'er.

Started a good thread tho.

This is probably a mix of both an underlining pot metal deffext in the area it broke. As well as higher velocity ammunition working that deffect to the point of breaking.

I could see doing a repair by scabbing some steel or Aluminum panels on to the sides of the receiver. Fugly, but functional...

Extend a set of 'ears' back over to the stock sides, and profile them smooth for fit.

Like as not, try to find a place to install some form of buffer padding too.

Not a project that would amount to being worth paying for, but if you have time and materials on hand, you could make it work again, I figure...
