CZ Bren 2 MS NON-Restricted MAJOR UPDATE Post 587

For Lower Mainland peeps looking to feed their new Bren, Lever Arms has non corrosive Chinese surplus 5.56 for $1040 for 1600 rounds. Not as cheap as it used to be but might be the best price around. I grabbed a case.

Not suggested if you can avoid it....

When we started to test these we tried using some of the Chinese surplus gold box non corrosive stuff from Norinco as well as some new manufactured white box. We found that this ammo is SO over pressured and just sized all out of whack...ugh, garbage. In the end we realized they wouldn't cycle for s**t with this junk so we bucked up for PMC Bronze.

If you shoot this Chinese crap beware, reloaded stuff is even better if you are on a tight budget. And really, at the end of the day is it worth the risk to your $4,000 rifle to go cheap on what you feed it ?

Interesting. My Tavor 7 has gone through 4 tins of norinco .308 without a hiccup. Didn't know there was Chinese 5.56 available but thanks for the heads up. Will not use it with my bren.

1:7 is for tracers 1:8 is perfect for 55gr and up which is what most of us will be using. Why they went with 1:7 ? availability? I would have preferred 1:8 myself.

Because that’s staying true with the 62 grain and 77 grain design that this rifle was built for. 55 gr will be fine tho.

The 1:7 was made the standard specifically for tracer ammo. The 1:8 twist barrel is the most versatile and can “comfortably stabilize” up to an 80-grain projectile while still providing enough flexibility for shooters to use lighter ammo for matches like 3-Gun etc... but what do I know!
