What would an estimate be for chopping a barrel on a M37 and giving it a IC choke?

And if anyone has used Jason @ Gunco and know his prices please say so!

If you chop the barrel, you've removed ALL the choke - you can't 'add' an IC choke to it unless you then put it tubes.

You can ream out a tighter choke down to IC quite easily and cheaply - under $50 for sure.

ah.. of course.

The problem is though, my Ithaca has a 30" bbl on it. I want to get it chopped to 26"

Assuming you're talking about a 37, a replacement barrel in the length and choke you want shouldn't run more than $200. Don't cut the barrel, man.

If you want to cut the barrel and add a screw in type choke if the barrel is thick enough it will run around $200 plus the cost of the choke. My brother bought a M37 from a friend that had a gun smith cut a 30" down to 25" and nothing else done to it. He bought the gun for a bush gun and this gun shoots buckshot and slugs out to 50 yards the same as a screw in choke gun. He has not tested it beyond that. I saw a M37 for sale at the last gun show for $150 in excellent shape and should of bought it to cut the barrel also for a bush gun.

That would be ideal. I love this gun, a lot. something about it. Its the character. Has a couple scratches on it, some pitting (small) and some bluing missing (safe most likely)... its just a gun that has character.

I enjoy it. Where can I get such a barrel?

Sharpe's Guns out of Ontario. He bought all of Ithaca's stock when they closed the Canadian factory. Don't have any contact info handy unfortunately. Be forewarned, his prices aren't cheap. You could probably pick up a second beater 37 and have the work done to it for what he'll probably charge you just for a barrel.
