Hello fellow Hasting County neighbourhoods,

Has anyone else seen moose, either live in person or from their property trail cam pictures in the area 20 minute drive South/East of Tweed?

We had a guest visit us last night and wondering if this was a one off or common south of Hwy 7. I have no interest in hunting moose, deer and bear fill my freezer, but very nice to see one and know one is hanging around.

Yes I have had several moose visit us over the years at my hunting property just south of Roblin. My buddy has a camp between Tamworth and Parham and they see moose regularly.

Yep, we got a nice bull with archery last fall in a similar area. If we don’t get a tag on our preferred area in northern Ontario we’ll hopefully get one for this area again as there’s more than one bull in there. There’s certainly not a lot in this area but they’ve be here for years.

This photo was taken just north of Brockville by a buddy while goose hunting on Oct 07.IMG_9751[1].jpg

Anything north of the 401 to the north of Kingston is moose country. Now you may see less in the farm areas, but there are plenty of moose in those woods.
