A former owner of the PMC Wagner. Found in his mansion in St. Petersburg by the FSB. Not really very impressive collection. Four Makarovs, one Stechkin (?)(not sure) and one small revolver which I am unable to identify (I'm not a revolver guy). I expected something better than that. Why four Makarovs? Different calibers?

Makarovs and TTs are one time use pistols in Russia. You murder somebody with one and lose it. BTW, russians have some modern pistols in 9x19. I think Gsh-18 for armed forces and Grach for police.

Prigozhin is a career criminal who once upon a time owned a "meeting place" restaurant for SpB "vori" (mafia) in the 1990s. SpB mafia was operating under FSB patronage at SpB seaport. Mainly drug trade, heroin out to Europe from Afghanistan, cocaine in from Venezuela and Cuba to the Orient.

Vlad Putin was a "bag carrier/FSB rep" for a prominent SpB mafioso Anatoly Sobchak (who later become such a buddy to Henry Kissinger, lol). Sobchak wife is a senator in Russia. Sobchak's daughter, Ksenia once was in "opposition" to Vlad.

I remember hearing ages ago that someone was importing the Gsh-18 into Canada... Anyone got one?

To my knowledge they never ended up coming in. IIRC Interammo was the company working on that. Firearms imports from Russia were blocked in 2015 after the invasion of Crimea.

Edit: Heres the thread on it if you wanted to go down memory lane.

Interesting. What is caliber of these revolvers? Like I said earlier I've never been into revolvers.

The revolver is most likely a S&W 442 in .38 Special - this would also explain the two boxes of Winchester ammo just in the bottom of the photo. It is pretty clearly some sort of J-frame with a modern/sloped cylinder release, ramp front sight and S&W's "black" finish. This would make it most likely a 442 or a 340PD, but you'd be able to see the slightly different finish on the titanium cylinder if it was the 340PD.

The other pistol I would've guessed is a FEG PA-63 or one of the other Walther PP clones in 9mm Makarov, but those usually only have 6 witness holes in the magazines where the one in the photo has 7. Could just be a Walther PP or clone in .32 ACP too.

Great! Thanks for explanation.

The Makarov makes a lot of sense if you are out in the field, no problems with ammo or parts. A S&W 442 Airweight would be excellent for combat jacket carry. The PP looks like a PP.

I've seen a write up on the machine pistol and I don't see one in the photo . and it would take longer mags . none in the photo . and the Smith looks like a newer one . unless it's a copy of a smith made in the Czech Republic. more narrow cylinder release . and where do you get Winchester ammo in Russia ? embargo.
