Where are the kimbers?

Seems like only yesterday that I got a new Kimber Select in 300 WSM for a 1000 bucks. One of my favourite rifles for wandering around and shooting stuff.

I was going to say, didn’t I sell you a 270 WSM Montana not that long ago. Then I looked, holy crap, that was 10 years ago!!! :puke:

I don’t know where the time goes; but it sure goes fast. As I remember, that one was 1000 bucks shipped and came with talley rings, a case, 13 boxes of mostly Barnes factory ammo, and 23 empty brass from the only shots it had ever fired. Wasn’t it your father’s gun? I think he was getting a 82L?

I still have it; used it as my guide gun this spring. Hell; I still have the factory ammo :)

Yup, that sounds about right. Good memory!

Haha, you’ll have to get in line. If and when I go, there are a few members here already written in ahead of you. Ones a lefty though so he would probably sell them cheap and buy more Tikka’s. :bangHead:

After thinking about that last sentence, I might have to make some changes to my will… :p
At least this southpaw friend of yours doesn’t use Salvages… right?

🤪

...they've been replaced by the Howa Superlite, you know, the rifle that comes in lighter and probably shoots tighter for 1600$ instead of 4000$ :stirthepot2:

A couple months ago, the guy at our local Canadian Tire gun section told me it was in the works for Gravel agency to start importing them again. I see two stores advertising new Kimbers now, so maybe it is a done deal?

Yikes ! Over $4 G with tax ! RJ

I’ve had multiple Kimbers, some good, some bad and a couple ugly.

Two grand awhile back to play the Kimber lottery was still way too much.

Four thousand is complete insanity. Have PRCook build you a semi-custom anything instead and still have some bucks left in your pocket.

Yeah I am a big Kimber fan but I would never pay $4000 for one. Out of the 8 I have had over the past six or seven years, only one was not great. The rest were all under an inch shooters. I think the trick is to buy ones that were manufactured in 2016 or after that.
Once you have carried a Kimber while hiking all day, it is hard to carry anything else.
The Howa superlite seems like a pretty good deal. Where the Kimber has them beat is the CRF action and the stainless steel, but for $2400 more I don't think so......Get with the times Kimber, you are pricing yourself out of the market.

7-08 is In stock at NorthPro sports (site sponsor) and on sale right now $1579.99. There, that was easy. You buy it so I can quit being tempted....

Oh snap… Now, not only am I under pressure…. I probably wont sleep tonight! I didn’t think the 7-08’s made itinto Canada!
