Does anyone know if you can put an 870 barrel on a Blue Line pump? The magazine tube holds 5 and looks a little long so I think the barrel band would be in the wrong place.

Any help is appreciated.

The Blue Line Pump is a pump shotgun imported by Blue Line Solutions. It is a Chinese manufactured copy of the Remington 870, made by Hawk Industries.

THE MODEL 870
America's most-trusted pump shotgun is also the smoothest. And with more than 11,000,000 sold since its introduction in 1950, it's become the best-selling shotgun of all time.

You won't know how well they copied the 870 until you try...

Thanks for the info but that still doesn't answer my question. I read that some versions of it will not take a regular 870 barrel...

IIRC with hawk/PD/blueline/grizzly etc. shotguns the barrel index is just a bit off.

Last time I looked into it the take away would be it is possible with a little filing but I never tried it myself.

It seems to be hit and miss with Chinese made 870's. I had an 870 express with a 12 1/2 inch Chinese barrel that fit perfectly. I also have a 12 1/2 inch Dominion whose barrel won't fit either of my Wingmasters. If the Blue Line is set up for a 'chunky' lugged Chinese barrel, an 870 will likely be loose - not good. I haven't experienced any issues with the barrel lug, but it's a very small sample of older units. Sorry, best I can do.

If the mag tube holds 5 and not four it likely won’t fit an 870 barrel, take a measurement from the mag tube end to the receiver. A standard 12g 870 mag tube is 11.5” from the receiver to the end of the tube, with the barrel on gun the front of the barrel’s mag tube ring/lug is 11.25” from the receiver to the forward face.

Thanks for the help. I've contacted Blue Line. I suspect that with the 5-round magazine the barrel band on a regular 870 barrel will be too far forward.

Too far back, depending how one looks at it lol

But yes barrels from 4 shot rem 870s dont fit 5 shot "same same only different" clones

The original HP9s had 4 shot tubes

It will not fit!!!

Joel is absolutely right .... my 870 barrels will not fit on my Blue Line pump!!

The Blue Line pump has a 5 shot magazine tube.

A standard 870 has a 4 shot magazine tube.

The "barrel band" ... I believe that is what its called .... the ring that goes over the magazine tube ... sits too far back on an 870 barrel and to be mounted and work with a Blue Line pump shotgun.

p.s.: Now, you could cut a piece of tubing to the exact length needed .... and that would fit over the magazine tube ... and use that as a spacer to make it work.

This was only on the 14” models. Their longer barrel models all came with the longer 5 round tubes.

OP, as mentioned by 0faustus0 it can work if you make a spacer. Remington did the same thing for the 7rd Tactical model. Sometimes the indexing can be off though with the Norinco’s.

As Leg mentioned, it was the 14" model designated HP9-1 that was the 'true' Rem 870 clone.

The one I had was flawless, could fit my 870 barrels and vice versa but some had index issues.

I see why those who are not in the know, thinks that the BlueLine 870 is a bad clone of a Remington 870 Express... Rather, the BlueLine is an excellent copy of a Remington 870 Express Tactical with every part being interchangable. The Express and Express Tactical are different beasts with the latter not being as common because they were primarilly purchased by American LEOs. Most parts of any 870 are interchangable but if you need a barrel for your BlueLine, the 870 Tactical barrel is an exact fit.
