Is there any 45-70 brass available in this country, either new or used? I would like to get my hands on some for a project I have in mind, possibly 50 pieces. There is some currently on the the EE along with some bullets, but the seller has decided he doesn't want to answer PM's, which is strange when you are trying to sell something. Anyhow, any help would be appreciated.

Hello, not the person who made first request, but do you still have 45-70 brass for sale? Looking for 50 to load black powder in single shot cva. Thanks B

3 people in one thread offered some up, must not be too rare just gotta ask the right place !
Bunch of 1f brass off to a new home to be used for black powder today.

It's out there. Sounds like folks here have some for you too. Trick is to buy lots when you find it. 45-70 brass will last a long long time, so you don;t need as much as you think.

I have looked for 6 months for 45-70 brass in Canada with no success. Finally bought 100 loaded rounds that were in Starline brass.
Brass availability of any type is pretty bad these days.
Almost like a war is going on or something...

you did not look very hard: i had 200 brass to sell that did not interest anybody for months here. my price was right and as we speak a local reloader got them ...
