The 29 and 30 are 2 different match styles. The best way to learn is to watch 22 Hunter matches on YouTube and CRPS matches on YouTube. Or have a conversation with someone who has shot a few of these. I think the Aug 5-6 matches are another series but similar COFs. The COFs are emailed the day before, but can change the day of. PM me your number and I can call an evening when I’m off work.

What is the max distance on this range? We need a good 2000 yard range in the Okanagan.

For rimfire lol....? Try Trinity Valley Long Range out to 1000.

OP not sure of the COF, as per emerson above they are given to registered shooters 48 hours before the match.

re the Hunter match each shooter/team gets X minutes for a stage but there is travel between stages
Is that time tight like running pace or a casual stroll? trying to get an idea of the overall event challenge
I can see have to hustle to keep things flowing along

Modern Day Sniper has a few great videos on how a team would complete Hunter CoF’s on YouTube. Phillip Velayo also has some solo videos on the subject. Morgun King also has a great breakdown on how to setup for a Hunter Solo Stage via the NRL channel. 10Fifty6 Precision on YouTube has a few good videos of how a team works in tandem of each other as well.

Hunter Matches are special. From what I could tell those are the best visual learners of this game. You want to feel comfortable yelling out targets to your RO to confirm which is to be shot first. If you cant find the first target and you’re running out of time just burn a round or yell abandoning target and move on. During my last match time was wasted finding the first of 4 targets and I didn’t get to shoot one of the stages only allowing for 6/16 Points which is bad for a team. Practice unloading your Tripod and pack under a timed setting. Long Range with the Lilley’s on YouTube has a great video on how one should time themselves doing this. I believe their rules of thumb was to have their glass on their tripod looking out at targets in 30 seconds max.

Good luck to those competing. It’s a lot of fun.

A team of 2 get a bit more time because both have to shoot. The limited time is only for the actual stage. 3-5 min depending on the stage or Match Director. I found the time limit, as a single shooter, not too difficult. I did actually physically practice from my pack and gear on to tripod up, find/range record targets, enter into ballistic solver and record elevation+wind, build positions, shoot and move etc. Your process is the key. As a team, if you don’t practice and work well together, it will be a challenge. The best way to understand what is required is to try it. Between stages is a casual stroll. The CrossFit types that want to act out the enlistment choices they didn’t take, are too few to fill a match roster.

Thanks, may take one in with my usual k.i.s.s. method, and decide what gear I 'have to have' later
gear bag might be - light tripod or monopod for optic support, binos, rangefinder, dope card, windguesser, note pad, shooting bag, bipod, rifle/ammo, pew pew, camera shot, move on

You may need a tripod to shoot off of. I use a bag to support the binos and then the rifle after. I bought a $300 tripod the week before. It worked but now that I better one it shows it’s weaknesses.
