I purchased a cz shadow 2 during the greatest Kanadian handgun stampede last year but my vision is no longer as sharp as it was(not that it ever was any good) and was lucky enough to grab an optic ready slide a few weeks ago from one of the supporting board vendors. all is well except the rails on the slide are oversized and need to be hand fitted to the frame. this normally wouldn't be an issue but the entire slide has had the nitride treatment. what kind of machine or tool will it take to remove a few thou off the rails?

I used this set of 1/2" x 1/4" square stones with the slide in a jig, in a bench vice. It only took a couple of hours, going slow and checking for fit.

ok thanks, how many of those stones did it take to get the slide to fit? I'm assuming you started with the coarse stone and finished with the fine stone.

About 3-4 stones, gradually going from coarse to fine as you mentioned.
