hello all, so I gathered all my savings and made the best financial decision ( not ) and got a used Tikka 270 win which im very happy to have. now I need a scope for hunting ( 200 - 300 yards max range ). and was wondering if you can help me choose an affordable one that gets the job done and leaves me with a few dollars to eat f:P:2: .

I got a Vortex Diamondback HD for my Tikka T3x in .270win. Does the job just fine! My T3X in 300WM has a Vortex Vanquish which I plan to replace soon with a Leupold. Bushnell Elite is great too. Best bet is to try them in store and see for yourself qhat you like best.

Can't beat this price and free shipping

I have 2 of these and they are best bang for the buck

What's your budget? Where and what do you plan to hunt?

A bushnell elite would be a good choice? 3-9 power

Bushnell elite or burris fullfield 2 are the least expensive scopes I would trust.

+1 for the Elite. They are now made in Korea but work just as well as the old Japanese ones.

Don't overlook a used leupold VX-1 if you come across them on the EE

Bushnell would probably be had for cheaper then a leupold, think the glass would be better on the bushnell.

Thank you all

@ Ipscshooters That sounds like a smoking deal, Thank you

Scope selection is very subjective, I would suggest the best thing to do is to go down to your LGS and put your eye through a few scopes to see what you are dealing with if at all possible.

I second the Vortex Diamondback Tactical 3-9x40 option. I was at the range banging steel at 200 yards and could see the spray of lead when the bullet hit the steel. Even the turrets work well with solid clicks on this discontinued yet somehow available model. Cabela’s also carries it. Made in Philippines and has the same glass and coatings as the Vortex Viper line. Great for learning MOA ranging and dialing.

I just put a 4-12 Leupold freedom on my 7 mm and it’s a nice fit, glass is clear , should be perfect for 100 to 400 yards.
But any of the above mentioned scopes should be fine.

I chose the duplex reticle as it’s nice and clean, not all cluttered up.
All you should need for those distances.
