Does anyone know much about these? I have been offered one for $600, though the seller tells me it "needs some work". I'm not sure what work it is, but I can't really find much information about them in terms of value, quality, etc. What should I be looking for if I go see it, anything that's important to check out? Thanks!

While the Beretta and Breda have little collector value, they were the best built Garands. Built in a non war atmosphere in Italy where time was not the priority but quality was. Built on machinery that the Americans deemed no longer needed. All parts will interchange between the American built Garands and the Italian Garands of like chambering.
Worth $600 easily once restored [depending on what has to be replaced].

This one is in beautiful condition, "all correct" and "all matching", so you could examine the photo montage, take some notes and look for similar markings when you go view the one being offered to you for sale.

trying to match up beretta and breda m1 garands isn't easy. most of them have lots of us parts, danish or us gi barrels. I worked with a ton of parts and could only make five complete guns----from metal to wood. 2 consecutive numbers and 3 consecutive numbered guns
