correct. has to be an OEM slide. i was told that milling an OEM non MOS slide is not possible as it makes the slide too weak???
i have a gen 5 glock not gen 4.
who offers this service in the GTA?
Not true, if you have a competent machinest/gun smith do the work there more then enough strengh in an OEM slide. I personally also prefer I dedicated optic cut pattern over optic adapter plates, generally it allows you to have the optic mouted as low as possible, but you have to choose your one optic of choice.
I personally do not own any OEM Glock slides with optic cuts, but I do own 2 aftermarket slides that have optic cuts for Trijicon RMR's one is a Gen 5 G19 Slide from Zev

i really dont get how this is production optics/production legal...
unless the rules have changed and im not aware?fair point i may have to find one then that can put in a RMR cut for trijicon/holosun
