ROSSI - 454CASULL - MODEL R92 - LEVER ACTION - HARDWOOD STAINLESS STEEL 20 Inch

The safety is really easy to delete. If I remember correctly it’s just tapping out a roll pin and the 2 pieces come right out the top. It just leaves you with a. Hole in the top of the bolt you need to plug. I filed down a spent 22 hornet casing and glued it into the hole on all my Rossis with top bolt safeties. I carefully punched the dent out of the spent primer and reinstalled it in the case, filed the head stamp off and trimmed the brass. I used clear epoxy (sparingly) and tapped them in with a plastic hammer. Lightly polished and they look great. My 454 is pre safety but I did it on my 357, 44 and 45 (Ranch Hand) and they’ve all held up to the recoil just fine.

The alternative of never using it at all comes with much less effort

I've actually seen that before, it looks amazing!.......:)

Nice work sawzall!

Re safety delete, can also grind the bottom and top of the safety itself and use it as the plug, which is what I did.

What are the chances they make/plan to make these in 460 magnum? I'd love a lever gun in 460, but I just can't bring myself to spend the $4k+ for a Bighorn.

I think they are pushing it as it is with .454. There have been at least two instances of them stopping production to address issues. Those Bighorns may be pricey but they are worth it.

Is this an item now in actual production? I have a deposit with another retailer who isn't getting back to me on whether they expect to see some .454s. I should have just bought one of these when I had the chance...

You still can:

The BHA are super nice, and priced accordingly. FYI: Any more coming in will be at least 15% more this year :(

I can't decide on which to get. It's either the Rossi 454, or the Henry Big Boy steel with 16.5" octagon barrel (45LC). They are roughly the same price. If one or the other sells, before I make up my mind, I will default to the one that is still available. If both sell, I'm screwed.
