Thinking about removing the dog leg on a p14/17 bolt, for a more conventional look. Just wondering who does a nice job of straightening, or replacing the knobs/handles?

You can buy new handles online, cut and weld the new one on. Any competent Smith should be able to do that for you. I don't know of many people straightening them anymore, though it was a popular option many years ago. - dan

I’ve done a bunch of P14 bolt handles it’s not that hard to do. Big thing is to have a heat sink and paste so the heat doesn’t travel up to the locking lugs. Once straight it polish polish and more polish. They look awesome after.

Got a pic by any chance. I have seen a few that came out really thin.
