Trying to find a decent light to attach to my rifle/scope for my upcoming Texas hog hunt (day/night). My firearm will be a Ruger predator in .308win. Left hand bolt. Not sure of the scope yet. What are my options? I am limiting to a red beam. Any other comments are welcome.Will the LH limit my options?

Really any quality tactical light will handle the recoil and have many options for your rifle, most will have the 1.25 head on it which will be easy to find a flip cover for it. Id recommend mounting the light on the right hand side of the rifle to be activated by your support hand, may need to attach a rail to your stock if its not a chassis model. I personally wouldn't use a barrel mount if precision is a goal

that has been a while but when we were doing our night shots (cant call that hunting) on wild boars we used spotlights to recover the killed ones and more than often the ones remaining did not even left the area and the only efficient way to get rid of the raiders was to kill all of them. what was working great too is having an hunting dog with you and way more efficient than a shoot ... but not be unleashed or it will take days to recover.

Fenix makes red, blue and green slip on covers as well. I got some from Warriors and Wonders last year.
