Starline Brass? Opinions.

Hello. I have never bought Starline brass.
I am looking for consistant brass weight between all cases of the same caliber. Does Starline fit the bill? Has anyone check the weight consistency?
Thanks for any input.
 
I've only ever bought Starline for plinking rounds, so unfortunately I can't comment on consistency for weights. But they all lasted an unknown number of firings without any issues. What round you looking to reload for?
 
Starline is good, and durable brass. Somewhat known for doing limited runs of unobtainium and obsolete. Sounds like your going for match quality. Standard for that is either lapua or norma.

I would imagine if you started with a good number, it would be possible to weight sort. Depends on how picky you are, purpose, and the amount of time you spend.

The average shooter really doesn't need to worry about case weights

As for neck thickness, unless you have a rifle with a custom neck that requires turning it's a feel good thing.
 
Both have been like finding hen's teeth lately, but what you can get hold of beats going without.

Double Tap has been a good importer of Starline in the past and should still be worth a look.
 
Starline pistol brass is as good or better as anything else out there. The rifle brass is good but not comparable to the usual match options.
 
Looks half decent but haven’t fired it and won’t for a bit. Just picked up some 308 Match SRP. Gives me opportunity to fire more once I build my 308 and I won’t have to use my Large rifle primers up as the 6.5 PRC and 338 RCM will be eating those up during load development.

Just deciding on projectiles now.

I'm on 7x fired on my 6.5 creedmoor srp brass. Held up well, good accuracy, no complaints really. Let me know and I'll do a weight consistency check when I get home if you would like an update.
 
Not target brass but better then most commercial brass. (Rem, Winchester, etc). Used it in my 9.3 x 62 when most had never heard of the round. Stood up well and I am sure is still in use by the fine gentleman who bought the rifle and the brass.
 
I’ve used lots and am happy in all cal. I don’t shoot matches just personal competitions. In BPCR in the US this is the brass most use. My go to in .45 colt,45-70:50-70:$59-90. Weight a bag and see if it will work.
 
No need to trim. Just size and load. I use extensively Starline brass in 44-40, 45 colt, 44 mag and .357 and in 45/75 ( .50 Alaskan) 45/60 , , ,45/70,30/30, .308, 30-06
This is good consistent brass.

My guess is you can develop rounds of any caliber with Pertersen - Lapua and Starline, and there will be no difference on target.
 
Well I guess the verdict is in. I’ll buy a bag and weight them out.

Good for hunting, plinking, and really good for straight-wall cartridges like 38-55, 45-70 and pistol. Not really up to snuff for any kind of precision shooting discipline though in my experience.
