Need some help with domestic flights and game meat!!!!

You would think a guy doing it for 40 yrs would be more helpful. His response has been just rent a car and go to Calgary if I get denied in Cranbrook. Which would mean I miss my flight and have to buy another one on too of the rental....of which there are no car rentals that do inter provincial in Cranbrook.

Definitely not a great way to start, it seems like he is going to leave me high and dry. I may have chosen the wrong outfitter.

It appears that your outfitter will guide you on the hunt, after that, your on your own. Go UPS, I'm sure there is an outlet in Cranbrook. Have a local butcher cut wrap and freeze it. Have the butcher or outfitter ship it for you. Sometimes there are unforseen costs and best to safe a bitmore money, just-in case. We always went beyond caring for our clients, taken many bird hunting after their trophy was on the ground, along with other gratuties such as: a day trip to Banff National Park, without extra cost.
Case in point, my nephew had just completed a bow hunt with his client, a 205" B&C mule deer buck, I'm sure he will entertain him with gratuties, pending on the tip. LOL!!!

Edit.... found a U-haul cube van I can get to drive to Calgary. Unfortunately it looks like I will have to end my hunt a day early to get this all sorted.. F me this is going well.

Go buy yourself a lottery ticket, you'll feel better and when you win you can fly 1st Class with your game meat beside you.
Seriously, buy the lotto ticket and stress less about the the logistics of which you have time to sort out.
Itll come together sooner than later.
Hows the positivity work for you ;)
Regards,
Rob

Rob, you're starting to sound like my wife lol. Point taken though

Brought 50 lbs of goose breasts from Winnipeg this past spring, and 50 lbs of salmon and halibut from BC last summer.

Both flights were with AC. I just bought a Coleman cooler out there, froze all the meat ahead of time, taped the cooler up good and just paid for an extra checked bag. I think it was $50.

If it was just 50lbs I wouldn't have a problem, but I imagine it will probably over 3 times that.

Deboned meat only.

Ya that seems fine but the clean skull will be the issue.

Talk nice to the guy that cuts and wraps it, get him to crank the freezer down as cold as it will go. I have done two day road trips in decently warm weather, with fish coolers (basic styrofoam cooler boxes) full of deer meat frozen like this, transported in an open truck bed, and not had ANY thawed spots when transferring it to the home freezer.

Dry Ice 'might' be an option too, if you can find any. Used to be more common.
