Hey everyone, wanted to show off my new Little Badger handguard! I decided to try and give the Badger a more modern vibe by replacing the quad rail setup with a full length M-LOK rail but keep the top rail to allow for optics mounting. Pistol grip and stock are from my previous post found here - https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/2356461-Chiappa-Little-Badger-2-0

That looks great!! How does it shoot? What does it mount to? Have you tried a red dot on it?

Thanks! It shoots great, feels like a completely different rifle. I can comfortably hold it much further out with my non-dominant hand which makes the gun feel more stable and pointable. Combined with how light the rifle is, it was really fun to shoot.

Mounts around the top and bottom part of the barrel where the factory rails were and uses two screws to stay in place, its rock solid. Haven't tried a red dot yet but shooting it with irons was a blast.

Nice work Dare!

Unsolicited Feedback, :)

The modern looking fore end, clashes a bit stylistically with the old school birds head look and I'd probably shorten the fore end a bit as well just to save on some material and weight, but I do appreciate that many people prefer less barrel protrusion out front and like full length hand guards.

Looks very good! Almost like that Pedersoli single shot, but less ugly lol

I also really like your pistol grip! Good work.

You selling any of these mods? I haven't bought a Lil badger yet, but if I do I'd be interested in a grip and I'm sure others would love that handguard!

See what I mean, different strokes and stokes for different folks..... :)

I wonder when the new model of Little Badger will arrive, feels like it's been a year already since it was announced?

Does it add much weight?

It does add a little bit of weight compared to the quad rail setup but its barely noticeable since the rifle is already super lightweight.

I love unsolicited feedback!

I originally planned to make a matching pistol grip but ended up really liking the stylistic clash. It reminded me of modern lever action rifles that use m-lok handguards giving it this modern retro look. Shooting the gun made me feel like a space cowboy :d

A matching pistol grip has already been sketched out and I will make that eventually, same with a shorter handguard for the exact reasons you mentioned. Keep the feedback coming, its half the reason I share these :)

I think they came out with an even more "minimalistic" takedown version somewhat recently. I'm not 100% sure if its out, but I definitely saw a few videos on it.

The new model has a quick 1/4 turn release mechanism so you can separate the barrel and the receiver and stow them a bit tighter, it will be interesting to check one out when they eventually come north but I don't find the original to be to bulkly when folded and once I bent the stock on mine a bit for a better cheek weld with the iron sights I found it pretty comfortable for a wire stock! The grip Daver II made just took it over the top though as far as making the rear hand way more relaxed and comfortable when using the gun! I had a pretty good pinch grip that worked well before Daver's grip but I won't be going back to that again.... :)

I think a version of your birdshead grip will work well with the new design as the single wire stock might be high enough out of the way to wrap your thumb around the grip!

I would love to put the pistol grip and handguard (from my 2.0 post) on that. Maybe make a small cheek riser too. While I don't think the Little Badger needed to be more minimalistic than it already is, it would look really cool.

If the price is about the same as the original, I'll probably pick one up just to try it out and compare.... it would stash well on the side of a pack in a basic soft shell folding takedown case.

Forend looks great. I'm still not a fan of the hand grip style though.

As Can-down suggested please design a stylistically-matching hand grip (perhaps similar to DaverII's minimalist?) and I'd buy for sure. I use a Little Badger to introduce first-timers to shooting, and your longer forend will solve an encountered user-problem. An additional design consideration is to ensure everything fits in the OEM bag. Perhaps a rotatable cheek riser (with off-center hole for variable adjustment) is also worth a try?

Thanks and keep up the innovation!

Looks like Marstar has the new model in stock, $300.00 Something to think about..... :)

Thanks, I noticed a few other vendors have it too. Definitely thinking about it!

Thank you for the suggestions! I am definitely playing with some ideas for a matching grip. So far everything I've made allows the gun to fit in the bag (except for the stock, that sticks out a tad but you can still fit it in there). As for the cheek riser, I am playing with the idea to make a storage compartment that also doubles as a cheek riser. That would likely make the gun unable to fit in the bag though.

Any plans on selling these?..fan boys are out there

I did start selling some of these after people showed interest in one of my first threads here, but as per CGN policy I can't really say how or where. I only share these here to get some opinions and ideas on future projects.

Like the fore stock but don't like the pistol grip, go with an A2 style grip.

I'd love to but an A2 style grip would prevent the rifle from folding. I'm currently playing with some ideas to get around that.

yeah, needs a grip and a cheek riser but at $300 ... I'll wait for it to go on sale.
