.22LR silent CCG ammo

Anybody heard of any CCG .22LR sort of silent ammo. This guy at the range says this is what he hunts with now but he couldn't tell me for sure the brand name. He sais the box was orange and believes brand name was CCG.
Anybody had any experience with this ammo ?

It's probably CCI subsonic or CB caps.
The CB caps are really quiet in rifles and the bullet hitting usually makes more noise than the firing.
The Subsonics are 3 times as powerful with a big hollowpoint and are really deadly on any small game. They are quite loud in anything with a barrel length less than 20" but sound more like a hammer strike than a gun. In longer barrels like my savage 3d 26" they are shockingly quiet really accurate and visciously deadly buy them for sure.
 
I use the CCI subsonics, and they are quite soft sounding. they dont have the range or good ol bang a .22lr has, but inside of 30 yards they do have a nice impact.
 
i have had great luck with the cci and remington sub-sonics....as previously stated though the longer the barrel the quieter they are...great i manually operated guns but can't get them to cycle in a semi....great for taking care of pests without disturbing the neighbours or house guests
 
the quietest 22 ammo i tried was CCI 22 long, I can still find the short version but not the short. thei were quieter than an air rifle in my cooey!!
 
Subs

The best way to have very quiet ammo is to use a ..22 CCI CB shorts with a long barrel. I have some old Win 67 single shots that have 27 inch barrels and the quieter than any pellet rifle. great for "Yard work" FS

As most here have pointed out, it sounds like CCI. They moved away from the orage boxes (you have some older stuff) towards clear boxes, with the new "no-nonsense" lettering on blue labels. The new labels also say fps, so it's not all cosmetic - it's partially informative, too! ;)
 
CCI .22cal CCI CB LONG

I finally saw the box of supposedly silent .22 cal rounds. It was CCI CB LONG and it was the plastic case that had an orange tint. Some Canadian Tire still sells them in those plastic containers, 100 for $9.00.
They occasionnally jam in the Savage bolt action 10 round magazine gun. Silent but a pain at times.
