OT: Grizzly Bear Engagement Opportunity

The request for input is illusory. If you're not at the Table, you're on the Menu.

I see they were looking over my shoulder when I said people were here before grizzlies.

I have no doubt you're correct, it's already been decided. Some interesting reading in there though.

Draft Provincial Grizzly Bear Stewardship Framework engagement

The Province of British Columbia recently released the Draft Provincial Grizzly Bear Stewardship Framework and is seeking public engagement. We encourage you to engage in this process.

Now is your chance to let government know that how you feel about the DRAFT Grizzly Bear Stewardship Framework. Please take the time to get involved and let your voice be heard. The document has deficiencies and this is an opportunity for you to have input during the public engagement process.

What can I do to help?

I have exactly one wild grizzly encounter and that was in Kluane Park. The 75-page report is actually interesting reading on bears, habitat, numbers and so on. Nevermind the emotions and read for content, it shows that there are good intentions to share what is known.

Really recommend having a listen before engaging the questionnaire. Unless you read and fully understand that whole writeup. It could turn opposite of what we want. Lots of people I know went and hit “strongly agree” on everything, without reading first.

This podcast sheds some light on that article and gives some good recommendations on what to say or bring forward on the questionnaire, that wasn’t talked about in the article.

Thanks to all who engaged!

did the survey

In every place I could type my comments I said that ALL non Canadian influencers such as NGO's, Celebrities and certain "wildlife conservation" groups should be banned from being part of this process as thier only goal is to see the banning of hunting , all hunting.
