The Winchester Model 670

The birch stock is so hard it is conducive to being stored and transported from Europe in large plastic crates filled with loose guns. Thank-you Sweden for a lifetime of handling marks.

I really like that rifle. I like the 670 smooth bolt knob and bolt shroud. Very nice lines on those rifles.

The smooth bolt handle and square bolt shroud were the same found on all the earlier post 64 pushfeed model 70’s. Winchester eventually made the 670 with exactly the same parts minus a floorplate and walnut stock.

I had one . $169 at Crappy Tire. In 30-06 and very accurate. 1 1/4" with hunting bullets. About 1" with match bullets.

I remember when that was going on . Bob and Tim had some very strong suspicions , but they never caught him in the act . It stopped suddenly when a certain individual stopped coming in .

Couple 670's on Intersurplus that look to be pretty nice condition.

Almost bought one.

But have a nice husky in 6.5x55 and a custom 98 in 6.5x55, and a p14 in 303...what more do I need for white tail and moose...

You got it covered I think lol.
Honestly for the $500 range, I'd take a nice 1600 over the 670, lighter, nicer, trigger is the only downside but I've got use to them...

I don't even find it that bad on my husqvarna. But I also love my enfields 2 stage triggers. I would make every rifle like em if I could. So used to them its hard to go to anything else

This is a better gun than a Husqvarna imo. Adjustable triggers is what most husky are missing. Makes them hard to enjoy.

I dunno, if you can get a husky for fairly cheap, think a aftermarket trigger wouldn't cost too much. Other then the trigger, my opinion is that the husky is a better, more slick action.

Slick forsure, and I paid around 390$ for that husky, and it has a nice raised comb on the stock, great with a scope. The m98 actually feels a bit clunkier than I thought it would be. But its a 1943 kar98 action, maybe that has something to do with it.

The push feed 1900 is slick and nicer then a 670. Trigger can be easily adjusted.
The 1600 crf isn’t. It’s got a great stock, crf action, but no way it’s smoother or nicer to shoot with 6# trigger.

The triggers are heavy and long for sure.
The ones I have (3 total) are all very tight and smooth in the action, couldn't tell the difference from any push feed they are that slick.
The 30'06 I have is pretty mild recoil even with the lighter weight and plastic butt pad.
I like my 70's too though, have a 1975 222Rem, it's a little odd being they only had one action length then, so the little 222 has a huge mag block lol. Shoots great.
The other is a 7x57 feather weight that's a joy to shoot.

Handloaded two loads for it. Barnes 150 TTSX left -2980 fps, Sierra 150 BT right -2940 fps. IMR 4350, obviously different points of impact but same result. That was easy.
