ATC question?

Excuses, excuses...

There is no comparison between the felt recoil of the .357 magnum or a .40 S&W that you carry and a .454 Casull. They are worlds apart.

Back on topic, I still carry my .357 magnum in the winter but for summer when the big bears are out, I want something with more umph.

I have had to back away from a grizzly while talking calmly and aiming my .357 magnum at him and it felt pretty light.

Yes indeed. But to paraphrase someone here... "it's nothing for real men"... so they don't wear gloves.

Yeah... well when you're nose to nose with a grizzly who ain't running, everything short of a Carl Gustav feels pretty light...

Caliber for ATC

Last year when I applied and received my ATC, there was a caliber restriction of 40 cal on the paperwork. When I had my interview, the CFO stated that he just wanted to know that you can shoot your pistol well and was not concerned as much as the caliber. He stated it could even be a 9mm.

I carry a 44 in summer/spring/fall and a 40 in winter time.

Since this last September when I renewed my ATC I have been refused anything other than my 2 Ruger SRH's in 454 Casulls on my ATC and just recieved another refusal this last Friday I was trying to get my G29 10mm onto my permit.

The Chief firearms officer explained that I already have 2 revolvers on my permit then went into a lesson telling me on how the BC CO's say that you only need pepper spray...

Guess she has never had a bear encounter in windy conditions...

Ok she has probably never been into the bush and doesn't have a clue...

Atc

I just received an email confirming my ATC for an additional 2 year period with both my revolver and 40 S&W as the 2 handguns permitted. Maybe I will purchase that 10mm now and ask to switch the 40 to 10mm for the permit.
