What is the advantage of this aluminum mount vs aluminum ring mounts like talleys?

Canadian made. Spuhr quality
I have a few alpha 3 ring mounts. No experience with the hunter. If fit and finish is the same, it’s a very nice mount and worth the $$

I have one on my 300wm. When ordering it I was asked what gun it’s going on and barrel type and scope so everything will fit perfect. It has lugs and fits great. My rifle shoots better with this mount and it is my most consistently accurate rifle. Best gun I have owned so it deserves a $400 mount. It worked so well my son bought one for his 300.

More interested in what the design difference does than if it is "Spur quality".

I have owned expensive MAK mounts and saw 0 difference from talley bases etc.

Not a talley fan boy or a a "just as gud" guy, genuinely curious

If you’re a “just as good” guy, then these probably aren’t for you. They’re expensive and probably on par with most very high quality mounts.

$400<sticker shock!> ....... Looks like I'll be running my state-of-the-art Weaver R&Bs for yet another decade.

At least they're matte finish, most anyways.

No kidding! Every once in a while I try something expensive, then go back to $30-$40 Weaver setups lol
