45 brass with small primers

been discussed about a thousand times- there is no diff other than the size of the primer- your standard small pistol primers work

about ten years ago I had some Yugo brass in small primer 45acp, got it when I first started reloading pistol. no problem, same load just don't mix it as you will bust your decapping pin if you put it through with a large primer decapper.DVC

Huh? Is the flash hole smaller too? Decapping pins are the same diameter aren't they.
my lee 1000 is now specifically set up to use winclean ammo- ie small primer 45 brass- the only thing i had to do was change the primer feed from large to small- draw your own conclusions

Don't do it JD

Its a big mistake. Whoever thought using a SPP in the 45acp case was/is nuts.
For us guys who have been reloading 45acp since the Roman times, getting a few of the SPP cases mixed in with the regular 45acp cases is murder.
Talk about crunching primers!
Here's some free advice: If you use the 45acp with SPP, then use it exclusively. Mixing the two cases will be a disaster waiting to happen.

the reason i chaged was a lot of people were throwing/giving the brass away -just leaving it there- the large pocket stuff i have to PAY for- and it isn't cheap- far easier just to change the press over( about 8 bucks if i didn't already have parts on hand)
