Hi All

Just got my Tavor and went to install a manticore hand guard. First off the plastic front piece that the rail slides into looks like it bent and has a crack in it now. I see the Tavor design made that piece replaceable. Probably for this reason. Then I stripped the front rail screw somehow reinstalling it. Probably the loctite. The rear screw went in easy. When I tried the good screw in the front it went in and then had resistance so I stopped. I can order a replacement screw and I’m just a little concerned if I’ve damaged the the threads in the block. Any advice?

Edit: ran a brass brush over the threads in the gun to see if there was loctite stuck in there. Tried the good bolt and it screws down with just slightly more resistance than the back. I’ll get another bolt and call it a day. Might put some super glue in the slight crack in the manticore piece. Have to say, a lot of plastic on this gun. I much prefer metal.

I found these and I believe they are the right specs for the rail bolt. Will report back.

Get yourself an M5 bottoming tap use some cutting fluid or oil and chase out the threads to remove any loctite and also to recondition any damadged theads as best as possible
I had similar experience with those bolts on my X95, most of the problem was due to the old dried up thread locker you need to remove as much of it as you can from the threaded hole and the bolts themselfs or replace the bolts

If you have access to a tap and die set, I use the tap to clean the threaded hole and a die to clean the treads of the bolts

Thank you. I need to get a tap set. I cleaned the hole with a brass brush and got the bolts from Amazon. The head on the bolts from Amazon are taller than the oem bolt but I’ve secured the rail for now. I got like 50 bolts for $10 vs the 1 oem bolt for $10.
