What's the best method of reloading for these.

I have read about 3 ways to do it.

1- use 22 blanks of different power levels and no powder in the actual case.

2- use opened and emptied 22 blanks for just the primer and then fill rimfire case with real black power (fffg)

3- use 22 blanks as they come and fill the case with real black power (fffg)

I have reloaded 32 rimfire and made my own 30 rf .All went boom and sent the bullet straight. If you have the reloader kit step 1 is seat the bullet,2 fill with powder ,i use FFFG,3seat the primer/22 acorn starter pistol blank.I never used Ramset blanks as they might be too hot.Ensure that theres no void in your casing, fill it so you can get the blank in with no air.

Thanks. Yeah I may stip the Ramset primers and just buy some 22 acorn blanks.

I have a few pounds of Schuetzen ffg

Has anyone ever ran black powder substitute in black powder revolvers. I have lots of H777 in both ffg and fffg

I have used a tapered spike to open the crimp on Ramset blanks so I could dump the powder and use the case as a blank/primer. Mounted the spike in the drill press to press the point into the crimp. Not running, just used it like an arbor press.
I tried to alter some .32 Short Colts. Drilled them out, counter drilled a rim recess. Didn't work. The front of the rim was slightly undercut, and the cases broke just in front of the rim.

I have a 46 bulldog that I use 44 mag cases in with an offset hole drilled to accept a 22 case. I have use 22 shorts without powder with the case filled with Goex 3f or H777. I don’t have a proper mould for it yet so I have been seating a wad over the powder and chambering a ball then the case.

Yeah those are what I have in 38 and 41 rimfire. Just trying to find the best way to load them..or more so just the ideal powder/primer combo.

I have both black powder and h777. I assume both will work and I'll try both ffg and fffg

Fffg is going to work much better than ffg for this.
