I read bunch info on Internet but need real people impressions. I like whole steel guns, and this is the one.
Who has them? Good, bad, average? Talk to me….

I had one. Sweetest DA/SA trigger from a factory pistol I have ever felt. Extremely accurate and reliable. Its weight really soaked up recoil. Not that I needed them but spare parts, magazines and accessories were hard to find at the time. No complaints about the fit but the finish on my pistol seemed thin (it wasn't flaking off or wearing down but it seemed cheesy). I had one roll pin (the one that held the trigger in place) that kept drifting out after 50-100 rounds. Another person at the range has one and has the same impressions as I do about the BE but he had a different roll pin (his was on the slide) that drifted out after 50-100 rounds. My barrel had standard rifling, his had polygonal rifling. Mine was a 9mm, his a .40 cal. All in all a pretty nice and accurate gun but I sold mine. The roll pin issues wouldn't have been difficult to resolve but I decided to sell it. FWIW, this is supposed the standard sidearm for the Israelli military. I hope their roll pins don't drift out in a gun battle but it is a sidearm and not their primary weapon......;)

Don't own one but had a chance to shoot somebody else's. The trigger was nice and the gun felt solid. Unfortunately, the gun suffered from inconsistent ejection and frequently threw rounds in the shooter's face. This seems to be an endemic problem with CZ75-based guns.

A little blue loc tight would have probably fixed that problem. The pins really shouldn't be drifting out tho!

Hey Sigp2101, I'm on the same boat as you. Reading bunch of info on it for the last month. I think that we can't go wrong for the price and I've made the decision to bought one. I'm looking for the .40 cal.

One of the best semi's in the league, carried one for many years as a backup side arm it was called a Jericho and still is in some countries, My carry gun was a 9mm, I now have the .40 and its one of the most accurate guns I've handled, shot after shot in the 9 and 10 ring using 6.6 gr of Unique under a 165gr flat nose copper coated bullet, a very well made gun and a pride to any collection, and shoots beautifully.

normally the DA is somewhere around 200lbs (or feels like it), but the SA reset and pull is pretty much one of the best on a DA/SA gun. a little polishing and the DA sweetens right up.

Two words: Tip-top.
It's a copy of a CZ-75BD, but they removed some roll pins and made the trigger just a tad smoother.
After working on it and with it, I think it's a solid purchase.

Cheers

I had the opportunity to shoot a Baby Eagle last year. It was one of the slickest, finest triggers I had shot in a factory pistol ever. As for the fit and finish, it's simply top notch.

If the price comes down on them a bit, I would seriously consider buying one.

Thanks guys, much obliged, I think I am going to go for it regardless the fact that parts a hard to come by. Have any of you solve this puzzle?

I didn't want to start a new thread, so:
-Does anyone know what, if any, CZ parts (mags, etc.) are compatible with the .40 S&W Baby Eagle?
-Given the choice between the pre-2005 polygonal rifling and the 2005 and on regular rifling, which one is a better buy?

I've decided to get one myself as my first handgun after handling one a couple of times in stores. I haven't looked into this parts issue though. Is it just replacement parts that are hard to come by or extra magazines as well?

I have owned my Baby Eagle in Chrome for several months and it is a great gun. I did a mini review including a few pictures of my gun after my first shoot if you do a search under my username. My Eagle is currently on it's way to the repair depot (broken spring) in Toronto so I will have a better idea of the whole parts/wait issue to get it back soon. Anyway get one you wont be upset you did.

Dude I just bought one here 3 weeks ago that was "supposedly" made in 2007 with Polygonal rifling. I don't reload, so I don't care.

Better guns can be had for about the same money IMO. If you want a metal-framed pistol in the $800-1000 range, consider a BHP or Sig P226.
