Can anyone tell me if the wood for a older model 1100 in 20 gage is the same as the 12 gage wood ? I have heard that they are interchangeable. It may be a dumb question but I was wondering as I have a 20 that needs wood and there seems to be alot more 12 wood around then 20.

Prior to the present 20 gauge light weight models, the 1100 and the 870, 20s were made on a 12 gauge frame.
