I'm looking for some more of the above, 6 shot size is best, elastic webbing on a hard backing and the hook side of hook-and-loop velcro style fastener on the back- I don't need the loop part and hopefully they are still available that way. Anybody know of a good source, high quality low price?

Amazon has a 4 pack of 6 round strips but they are OD/Grey/Black/FDE. You can buy singles of any color but they are all about the same price as the 4 pack.

The amazon ones are OK for plinking but the elastics wear out fast and the hook side bunches up when they are loaded and they can have a tendancy not to stay attached to the firearm if just slapped on.
The perroz and esstac use a thick piece of scuba webbing so they are much stiffer and have good elastics.
The S&J 1.0 and 2.0 also use thick scuba webbing. The 3.0 how ever, use a strip of tegris to stiffen them and they also use a high quality elastic. They are a bit mor pricey but I would say that they are the best.

Buy an assortment of them and see which ones you like best. They will all fall apart eventually wih hard use and need to be replaced.

The current S&J are very good indeed. Much better than Esstac. Not quite as good as Vang Comp, but then they don't cost what the Vang Comps cost, you can get them, and they're 95% as good.
Hey. Thanks for that.
I'd like to here why you think the Vang units offer over the Gen 3 S&J units
Thanks

I think they're both up there, but the diffence is mostly in material. I'm partial to the standard scuba webbing, as opposed to the thin top layer and tegris, but that's all preference. Only other thing I'd like to see is double-row stitching on the parameter. Really appreciate that you guys are always pushing forward. Love to see more shotgun innovation, as there's plenty of us looking. Personally, I'd love to see more standalone ammo carriage solutions. Have a few in mind, but too lazy to execute.

Read my mind, please ;)

Good feedback back!

We will be sticking with the Tegris insert, we have found that thr best, one of the reasons we moved to that is the lack of 2 in h s scuba webing in colours.
I'll take a look at the double stitching.
Right now we are working on a shotgun micro chest rig
That takes some ideas from the old school SEO micro
And out DSC shotshell pouch.
Combine with an IFAK insert ;)

I think Tegris is a great stiffener, and mates well with 500D for a world of color. Look forward to seeing what you come up with for the chest rig as well.

One of my biggest issues with SOE and other pouches is the 'dangle'. Even if it's an empty card or pouch, I want to reduce the amount of things bouncing around when I'm reloading in a building or the bush. That's why I keep going back to horizontal pouches, belts, and fanny packs. I do have a design, but need to get it figured.

Love to see a simple S&J fanny pack with a 1" webbing waist strap, one zipper, and an elastic banded opening at the top (e.g. 5.11 vtac pouch, or Blackhawk dropleg dump pouch). Just big enough for 30-35 rounds or so.Teardrop shaped fanny packs worked better for me than the rectangular (like my Spiritus Fanny Sack). My homebrewed solution version was an unholy union, so I'd like a pro model ;)

Looking at a plastic stiffened velcro shell card with resin plastic holders that I've kept full of shells for a decade or so, I found that it has cupped, bent into a shallow curve that really reduces its ability to grip the velcro patch on my 870. So maybe they shouldn't be left filled for that long, or maybe another design is in order. I'm looking more favourably on elastic loops too, they're cheaper, hold the shells better, and are a heck of a lot cheaper to replace when they do age out.
