Mossberg Silver Reserve VS Stoger Condor supreme

I think I'd like to pick up a semi decent OU 12 g.

These are both about the same price and specs.

Looks go to the Mossberg in my eyes, does anyone have any insight that would sway me to one or the other.

Would mostly be used shooting clay birds launched off the ATV in the door yard
 
Mossberg have a reputation of doubling and condors have a reputation for light strikes. I have yet to see a sample of each go 100 rounds without showing an issue on the skeet field or on hunts
For the money huglu 103 or a Churchill ou are much more reliable guns and can be bought from businesses that have great customer service and good repair centers. Mossberg and stoeger lack in Warrenty centers
 
I have a Mossberg International Gold Reserve which has the same guts as the silver but with some fancy engraving, adjustable comb, adjustable LOP, etc. I have no problems endorsing Mossberg products and I'm a diehard Browning owner.
 
I've had several of the Mossberg shotguns...emphasis on "had". Can't comment reliably on the Stoeger but it'll be whichever off-shore facility won the contract for cheapest production.
 
I had a condor years ago. The issue was whatever they called bluing. It was a rustamatic. Mostly ducks just laugh at me, but I could actually hit something with that one.

If I was to choose, I'd go Condor. The negative for me with the silver reserve being summed up in one word----Mossberg.
 
the churchill is a better option x100, for huglus i had bad experience with an older bobwhite being 8.5 pounds with a 25 pound trigger, condors works but the finish is not strong enough,cheap blueing and wood finish, it will look like crap after a few years

never seen the mossberg

Not sure why people have to even ask they are both junk a waste of money I get it that not everyone has 2000-3000$ to spend on a gun but throwing your money away on crap makes know sense to me .
We live in a world of mass produced everything they look the part but that's where it stops
It was no different in the 70's80's 90's with the larrouna Sabatti and a few other makes

Why ask, well , when one is contemplating spending $1200 it's expected that the your getting something that will work trouble free..

Same reason people by Bushnell or Leupold instead of Swarovski ir Schmidt Bender scopes

There is always a point where you get serviceable gear, and where you pay more for extras, that may not be required. With O/U shotguns that price point now seems to be around $2000-$2500 for a gun that will typically last a lifetime without major repairs,and with scopes, the number is closer to $400-500 . You won't get fancy, or the best features for that price, but the product will usually stand up, and provide what most people need to get by. If you purchase a sub $1000 O/U or a sub $200 scope, you may have decent service, but the odds are much higher, that there will be issues at some point.
