CZ 457 aftermarket barrel options?

I'm waiting on a 22" IBI 1/16 myself.

It would be worth trying to play with your headspace on your stock barrel though if you haven't already. A cheaper option to squeeze out some more performance. My CZ457 Varmint started shooting Eley match extremely well with a 0.005 shim... triggershims.com will mail you a set for ~$15USD.

bolt shim or barrel shim!? sorry, i’m new to this concept.

Barrel shims, which are placed on the tenon, are used to ensure headspace is correct. They are often used because either receiver dimensions or aftermarket tenon length (or both) can vary.

I’d try Jerry at Mystic Precision. He sells high quality barrels and is a site sponsor. He has loads of experience with getting rimfires to shoot extremely well. You will learn much and be in your province. Best of luck and the shims are to adjust the headspace of your setup to match specific ammo types.

thanks, two options. watched a couple videos on measuring head space, pretty sure i’ll be checking it very soon.

hey thanks, i’ll definitely check him out! saw a cz bull barrel on the EE but… good price but buying a used barrel from a stranger is kinda scary…

Many times spending more money on ammo is easier than spending on new barrels. By spending more I mean on different lot numbers of better grades of target ammo and it’s not necessarily the $30 plus a box that’s it. I’ve had lots of SK that outshot Lapua Exact. When you find that lot number then buy all of it you can. Best of luck
