Fox Sterlingworth Dbl Barrel 12 ga. with engraving

I must have missed it......did someone say it was a $500 gun??

Probably referring to your post about a good shootable Sterlingworth being a $500 gun.

And voluntarily going for a slight derail, but since we're on the subject: Putting a $ value one a 1-of customized gun can be kind of hard
- If you know the engraver, or original owner... it will be worth more.
- If you're purely a collector... depends how much you like the customization.

Me just looking at it, I think it's actually kind of nice in it's own way. But I find it kind of odd that they went all out for engraving on the action and barrel, but somehow skipped the forend iron (or whatever the part that rides on the action is called), the tang screw or the grip cap?

I know not everyone like guns, and even among folks who do like guns, many don't fancy SxS... but you'd think this one would have stayed in the family?

Agreed. Some people just aren't sentimental about anything. My kryptonite is the I am sentimental about EVERYTHING. I was always amazed when watching Pawn Stars (yes I know it is all contrived and scripted) when someone would come in with something that has been in the family for generations and want to sell it.

Nice article and info on this Fox. If I had it I would just keep it as a historical firearm and not worry about $$value. Some things can’t be nailed down with a price, especially if not for sale. Enjoy, if you haven’t already moved it. Cheers!

Looks pretty nice to me. I appreciate the time and effort that goes into engraving done by hand. I'd rather have it, even with minor imperfections, than faux engraving roll stamped into the steel.

I don’t know squat about SxS shotguns but this thread makes me want one.

Rylan, if the asking price is fair (very subjective) I’d be mighty tempted to buy that example, but as I said, I know nothing about them.
