Now I feel like a d**k, I was looking for a scope and came across there website (I have order off them in the past) and see they have it for a crazy deal. So I order, send EMT and then email asking if it was an open box unit because the price was so low. Not thinking they are closing up shop. Typically I would be concerned that I sent an EMT to a store that is closing but these guys have always been top notch so I am not worried about them forgetting to send my order.

It's great to see they will still be online
But due to how behind the time canadian wholesalers are, they won,t have access to 1/2 the product lines as most wholesalers won't sell to online only stores.

The sale was insane. When I finally got there there was just a few guns on the rack. I knew something was up.
In hindsight, the "hunting trip" was probably the owners dividing up and counting the inventory and calculating the discounts to split the proceeds. Just a guess.
FYI, the area is bad for junkies. There's a methadone/medical heroin clinic across the street. I've seen people shoot up in the back alley and in the empty lots. Lots of businesses are closing or thinking about closing due to the homeless/junkie problem. Shame, because 3-4 blocks in any other direction you don't see it as much.
I'll miss snagging the estate sale scores they brought in. Bought many off them.

Lever definitely feels emptier than usual and they haven't really brought in any big shipments of surplus for 3-4 years now. And with handguns frozen in sales and transfers, with ARs gone 3.5 years, and just that area becoming expensive AF, the writing is indeed on the wall. Reliable is still doing alright and they're full of customers regularly and have full stock.

####, I knew i should have bought a T3X and Xbolt a couple of months back. Stupid me. Sorry to hear though. Broke/cheap Canadians and anti-gun government is a losing combo.
Reliable and Italian should be ok I'm hoping. They are always busy when I'm there. Still lots of hunters and shooters that they cater too and they always have a good range of stock.
Wanstalls seemed to cater more to the restricted crowd, but also became pretty bog standard when Gary left. Selling a limited selection of lower-end, non-competitively priced stuff with nothing of interest to draw folks into the store or to the website, is not a sustainable model, particularly in the current climate.

It will really depend on whether the Liberal damage can be reversed, if it is reversed. Already, many ranges and clubs are fearing the inevitable drop in RPAL holders as handgun sales and transfers remain frozen, and ARs had been prohibited for 3.5 years. If more damage is done on the semi-auto front before next election, it's only bound to get worse, and I'm not sure the next government will necessarily reverse all the changes. Local gun shops have been suffering and will continue to suffer and go out of business at this rate, some faster than others.
