usgi M1A stock

Its fairly easy. It might be a drop in fit, or some slight fitting may be required. From the pictures posted, Boyd's M1a stock's are not all the same on the top surface. Mine needed some relief cut for the right hand side of the op rod rail to fit.
No Mods
If it is a true USGI like mine I should just drop right in without any mods. I found it improve my groups also
How easy or difficult is it to fit a norinco 305 into a usgi M1A stock?
Does it need a lot of alteration to the stock or is it a fairly simple process.

a usgi wood or fiberglass stock (vs an unfinished boyds stock) IS a drop in fit to any M14 type action.... m1a.... m14s/m305 included. However, you will need to glue a popsicle stick or similar against the inside of the stock, where your oprod spring guide takedown pin is located.... otherwise this pin will "walk out" while the action cycles. This is the ONLY , "MUST DO" mod the stock requires. Selector switch hole filling IS optional and the m14s/m305 functions as normal with or without this hole filled.

a M1a stock , as it is not a "real" military m14 , does not have a selector cut out as it was made semi auto only and was never able to accept select fire parts

Except for the pseudo/retro stocks that SAI made from surplus FG stocks(iirc old FG stocks had once been sourced, had the selector cutout filled and repainted).
ie USGI stocks refinished by SAI for their M1A
