Hoping someone is looking to part ways with a glock in 45 or 10mm...I have an exemption for Wilderness carry and have phoned all over...RCMP told me to try and find one to buy privately would be my best bet....Does anyone have any leads??
Wow, seems no one knows the rules…The CFO told me 357 is the min, she also told me 45 qualifies…not my first choice, but im not interested in a wheel gun…also you can sell your hand gun to some who is exempt from the freeze… Dig deeper folks before you make false statements…
Jets are cool bro, did you need me to send you a copy of the e mail chain? Im just relaying what iv been told.
There is no course, only an application and Proof of Proficiency test. Im not saying i agree, im saying i was told id be approved for a 45 auto..
I have only applied in Alberta, perhaps its different in each province. ATCs are handled on the provincial level.
Sure I’d love to read it, I’ll be submitting my atc application over the winter so any additional info is good to see. Send me a PM and I’ll give you my email.
Most definitely is a course offered, can give you examples of three in bc, one of which I’ve taken. If you have the atc application package in hand question #10 on the Atc questionnaire will ask you to provide proof of all firearms and wilderness training you’ve completed in the past 5 years, which is where the WATC course comes into play in the application process.
I guess my numerous survival and wilderness first aid counted?? Also the firearms training classes iv taken... No one asked me for further proof of classes than those....
I wouldn't be opposed to taking a class tho....Pass them along if you know of any in Alberta.
If you are not wedded to a glock, the P220 10mm is also great option if you can find one.

It looks like i have a few options now…No glocks, but several 10mm which is my preferred option.
Not trying to be a ####, but after calling around yesterday to gun shops the amount of people that have told me it’s impossible to purchase a pistol is wild….Looks like P and D has brought in a few pistols for ATC holders. Will likely be going through them as they are actually up on the rules and were very helpful.
Still interested to hear from folks looking to part ways with there G20s.
Canadian gun culture has become so toxic with negativity, lets do better. If your not sure keep your opinions to yourself…Im not looking for advise or be told i cant, im looking for a legal transaction with someone who wants to sell there 10mm Glock. I dont blame people for wanting to hang onto there pistols, but perhaps there are some people who panic bought or just dont use them…This is a way to regain some funds, because the way things are going, when you pass they are going to be destroyed. I am not exempt for the rules, I just have been given the opportunity to carry a pistol well at work, in the bush, alone, doing exploration work…I am able to purchase a single firearm, that needs to be approved by the CFO…
anyone can sell, it is the legal transfer to an individual that is not allowed unless that person is a member of the exempt group. How would that work, considering the average Joe isn't allowed to sell?
Nevermind the finger wagging, I'd like to know what the handgun market is like nowadays. You say pickings are slim, so what are you expecting to pay for say a G20/G21? When our as$hole overlords trusted us pions with hand guns, one could expect to pay anywhere from $700-$800 for these guns...what are they worth now?
Just shy of $900 cad before the freeze came into effect, saw another one for $1100 at the same time. Ad extra mags and a KKM barrel and holster to the equation and your well past $1500.
I would expect to pay a lot more now for just the pistol, if you can find one that someone is willing to sell.
