What happened to CCI Velocitor?

The Velocitor is a great round - fast, and little heavier than most 22lr. It's the most accurate in my old 10/22, but I can't find the stuff anywhere and I've been looking for months. Anyone know if it's coming back?

Looks like they've sold out at fishing World. Al Simmons I will have to call as their website isn't set up ammunition orders - it's listed, but there's no link to order.
Tiger Arms appears to have them, but they want $96.00 to ground ship 10 boxes to Ontario which seems like a heck of lot.
Hopefully Al Simmons has them in stock.

Thanks for the help!

I hope so, looks like CCI still lists it. Back when I was chugging through lots of 22LR ammo, I got the strong sense that CCI doesn't produce everything/all the time. 17M2 is probably proof of that, but it seemed cyclical. You'd see it for a month/gone for 6, repeat. (roughly)

Anyhow, guessing is no fun so I changed by buying habits. I try to buy when I see it (vs hope it's there when I do), and, buy in bricks. When ammo supply/pricing was consistent, buying a few boxes here/there gave me an excuse to visit gun shops weekly. Now, only 1 local gun shop (vs 3) and supply/pricing all over the place.

Velocitor was on sale 2-3 times last year, a special price if you bought 2 bricks. Been keeping an eye out for the same sale from the same vendor, but they're not listing any. If I see any pop-up, I'll bump this thread.

A company on the east coast wanted 100$ to ship 6 bricks to Northern Ontario

Yep, bullseye had them really cheap if you bought them in bulk. Shipping was reasonable. Before that, I was looking for months and it was sold out everywhere.

They're 40g so any extra weight is likely case. Fed champion is 38g and 1260 HP-HV; not 14xx but still powerful? And easier on your rifle. And more likely more accurate, 'pends on your use.
Tenda still does free $300+ shipping, doesn't take long to get $300 if you shoot much. They are out of Vs right now.

Agreed - Velocitor is a heavy hard hitting round great for small game hunting. It is very accurate out of my old 10/22 as well and I have it zeroed at 50 yds. I hope CCI keeps producing it. I'm glad I bought a brick when I purchased 22 ammo last. I tend to use it sparingly when I do use it.

The Velocitor and CCI SV are their best products in my opinion.

I had the same box of 50 Velocitor in my lock-up for years (over 10?) and never found a rifle that even liked it a little. Enter the T1x MTR! Now I snap it up when I see it, but have a decent supply at all times. Makes me wish I could try it on gophers out west. They'd do the job with power to spare, but I'd love to see what they bring to the table.

The Velocitor round has pretty much gone away. There are some retailers who have some left but it is not worth the effort.
Sure it has a bigger bullet but the speed is not that impressive.
For the price, just buy Mini Mags. Good results on gophers and a consistent product.

If you want a round to take off a gophers head, get Stingers. Or the new last year "Stangers". Same bullet in a 100 round pack.
Cabelas has Stingers on sale for $10 a box fairly often. Not a plinking round but as accurate a round as any I have shot over the years.
And I have shot a lot of rounds.

Must be nice. My Savage mk2 f didn't like stingers or velocitors. Always got random fliers in my groups. Haven't bought any in years though, maybe my heavy barrel fvss might do better...

I was at the range with a buddy a couple months ago and we were testing accuracy in our .22s at 100y. I tried Stingers, Mini-mags, CCI SV, and Velocitors and much to my surprise the Velocitors were the most accurate through my late 60s vintage 10/22. I thought the heavier bullet would cause significant drop at 100y, but that didn't seem to be the case. Great round, but I have to invest in bolt buffer so I don't beat up the ol' Ruger too badly :)
