I recently tried to put 2 different optima chokes in a 1301 tactical. Neither fit. They are to wide. I checked with mic and they are .010 ish wider. The choke it comes with says optima and the shotgun is advertised as taking optima chokes. What am I missing here?

So, my 1301 came with the factory choke designed to use the breacher attachment

Here is what the factory breacher looks like

Not that I need it but, anyone know of muzzle break or breacher attachment that might work with this choke I have?
The factory one seems unobtainable.

I use the Beretta Optima Hp ext ported chokes. Do not use these chokes on Federal flight control ammo, it strips the flight control shell to soon.

This is an older post, but why start a new thread... What chokes are everyone running in their 1301's? Just the factory IC, or have you got some extras? I'm looking for chokes to run buckshot and slugs, thinking the factory IC will do there, but also want to use bird hunting ammo. My google-foo finds that the 1301's have a slightly different sized bore than the Benelli's I'm used to, and different sized chokes. Example, a Modified Mobil choke has a .705 restriction, and an Optima-bore HP Modified is .713, Mobil IC is .715, Optima-bore IC is .723 . What are y'all using for bird shot?

In my 1301 I run a Carlsons extended light mod. I use the shotgun for 3 gun and migratory bird hunting. Shoot slugs out of it as well. It has served me well.

I have an extended Beretta IM and Carlson IM in each of my tacticals. Both have produced tighter groups for all the loads I run, 000, 00, #1 and #4. I would like to try something even tighter but I shoot as many slugs as I do buck and accuracy seems to degrade when going tighter and I am not a fan of swapping much.

Very interesting thanks, if your successfully running 000 through an IM, then I won't feel bad running 4 through BB birdshot in a F, and slugs and buck through an M. Any preference or discernible difference between the Beretta and Carlson?

I only started using the Carlson this last week but as far as I can tell it's effectively the same. I have done very little informal testing that was pretty much just comparing both with 2-3 shells each of 000, #1 and #4 at 10 and 25m.

FWIW I ran a lot of 00 through a Beretta "Full" choke before I sold it. It did nothing to help the shells I used aside from making even more flyers and slugs hated it.

I'll keep the buckshot out of the full choke, lead bird shot only. Carlson chokes seem easier to source, although Stoeger seems to have the Beretta's in stock pretty consistently.

$100/choke from Stoeger is a bit much but if you can narrow down what you need it's not terrible. I was wrong BTW, my other extended IM choke is from Trulock. I got it from Tacord and it was significantly less expensive than OEM. I have used a lot of Carlson in the past so I got it mixed up, my bad. I like it enough to try more if I have need for different sizes.

I found a lot of very positive Trulock reviews online, so I ordered a couple extended ones from Londero. As you mentioned, are cheaper than the factory ones.

Here is another great option for slug/00.

I've got enough permanent hearing damage that I can't do breaks anymore, even with hearing protection. Choose not to. Look interesting though, if I were younger I'd be all over them. I once accidentally shot a 3" 00 buckshot through a turkey choke on an 870 Special Purpose. Didn't sound right, but broke nothing. Interesting the Buck Kickers are so tight.
