The Remington Model 32

Very nice!
- Just thinking outloud, but isn't just me, or American gun makers never really showed any interest in scallop receivers?

Good point. American gunmakers haven't made many over unders and, as such the design never really evolved. In recent years Ruger produced a very nice America made gun, the Red Label, but it is now out of production.
The Italians lead the way these days with fine companies like Perazzi, Beretta and a number of others.

I was thinking along the line of the M21/Parker/Ithaca/Fox...
- Off the top of my head, seems like only the "new" CSMC have integrated scalloped receivers in their design

It's interesting they didn't do that. It is extremely common to scallop the receiver when doing a Fox upgrade. The only one that doesn't surprise me is Winchester. One look at the M21 and you just know aesthetics were pretty low on the priority list. LOL

But a robust waterfowl gun was high on the priority list and a 21 Heavy Duck is definitely robust and pretty in it's own right. ;)

Should probably start a new thread... but... any relation between the model 32 and the 3200 ?
- They sure kept the same engraving pattern

The 3200 was definitely inspired by the Model 32. Also, I'm sure that Remington was also very much inspired by Krieghoff's great success with their K32 (now K80 which of course is a derivative of the M32).
Although the 3200 gained a fair bit of popularity with target shooters (and a few live bird shooters), I very much doubt that Remington's 3200 was a money maker---a repeat of their lack of success with the M32. Historically, US gun makers have had difficulty making successful and profitable over unders and have lost the battle to makers like FN's Superposed's, the Japanese made Citori's and Winchester's 101 etc etc.
More recently there are a handful of US companies making excellent target shotguns eg Kolar, Ljutic, Connecticut Firearms (CSMC) and others.

Thought I should share this M32 with you. It was fairly popular back in the 50's and 60's to customize M32's. Perhaps Krieghoff's K32 which was available in a multitude of high grade options inspired collectors and shooters to build custom shotguns using Remington's M32.
This gun was engraved by one of the best ever American engravers, Winston Churchill. There is no mention of who did the stocking---perhaps Griffin and Howe as Churchill worked for them for many years before going on his own. I can't imagine that there is a finer M32 than this gun.

I own a 32 Skeet that I use regularly, they are a nice pointing gun for me and function smoothly, they are of high quality and I love mine.

You are a fortunate shooter. There aren't many M32's in Canada. In a life time of collecting I have only seen two of them.
This tread has attracted only two M32 owners.
Perhaps you would like to post a picture of yours?

I owned a 32 four barrel set skeet gun at one time, great shotgun!
However, as I only shoot vlays to stay in shape for bird hunting, I sent it on its way to a gentleman in Ontario for his daughter to shoot :>)

M32 4 barrel sets are very rare. A small number of skeet shooters were fortunate to have them---they were pricey and most shooters used less expensive guns such as pump guns or auto loaders.
