I was driving back to Prince George from High Level, Alberta several years ago, and the
Northern Lights were truly magnificent. I stopped my vehicle on a spot where no other
light was visible, got out, and just watched and listened to "Aurora Borealis" for about
15 minutes. Thy were just like drapes, moving back and forth, crackling, and swooshing.
Colors from light green to deep purple. What an awesome display!!

I’m impressed with the food dishes all you Yukoners have posted as I do love food , but it’s the outdoors that calls to me . The Yukon seems to be a wonderful place for an outdoor enthusiast . Too long a winter for me at this age .
I am going to visit the Yukon before I can’t !

The ten months of winter is what keeps this place from becoming overpopulated. A friend who used to come up regularly to visit said it felt like the visegrips came off his temples whenever he walked off the plane in Whitehorse. I find there are just way, way, way too many humans in my way whenever I visit the real world. There are almost two moose for every man, woman and child here, which is far more up my alley.

However, you do have to catch and dig your own food.
Well, not quite, we got the rice at one of the eight stores here.
Roasted up some boneless northern pike fish fingers for a potluck dinner at the church last week.
They lasted about four minutes!
Winters are what you make them. If you sit around all winter wishing it was Spring, it’s going to be a long winter. If you take advantage of the beauty and the opportunities, it doesn’t last that long.
