Thinking about a bolt-action, scoped rifle. CZ a good choice?

I saw a thread here once where a poster posted pics of his CZ 452 Varmint. I didn't really like bolt actions at the time, but thought it was a great looking rifle. I'm getting the itch for a bolt action scoped rifle. Is CZ a decent choice? I like the looks of the 452 Varmint or American, and the American also comes in Left handed which is a plus.

Also, whats a good scope?

Those pics? That's my safe queen! :D

Yes CZ are great guns. The rifle is very accurate and the action is smooth like butter.

There's a few mods you can do to the gun to reduce trigger pull and creep.

The best bang for your buck for in the bolt rimfire guns.

That's the one! Fantastic looking IMO. I'll see what the local gun shop has this Saturday. Ellwood Epps has a few left handed versions at the moment, too.

Got myself a CZ452 leftie a few months ago and shoulda done it years ago. An absolute blast to shoot and accurate as all get out. Also a very nicely put together rifle. Fit and finish are excellent. I will be breaking mine in for a while but with less than 2 boxes of ammo thru it she shoots like a hot damn.

Careful when you ask what scope to pick for your rifle. you'll get everything from $100 to $1000 dollar suggestions.

As for me I have a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14X40 on mine. Haven't shot it yet, I need to wait for the cold to go away!!

My 452 American sports a Bushnell 3200 4-12AO with the Ballistic Plex reticle. Shoots 5 round groups averaging 3/8" at 50yds with PowerPoints. Use Burris Deluxe .22 rings. Only mod was installing the adjustable sear that's available from Brownells. Made for a very nice light pull (1.5lbs), unfortunately still has the overtravel.

I think CZ makes the most accurate production guns. I have owned several and they have all been incredible accurate.

Your rings aren't high enough........

Definately would be a great choice going with the CZ, Matt. Very accurate and great craftsmanship on these guns. A buddy of mine got one with some gorgious wood on it - the nicest I have seen on a factory CZ

Not too keen on Bushnell especially the lower end so I went with a Nikon Prostaff. Amazing optics about as good as my Leupold VXIII but quite a bit less expensive. A 4x Nikon Prostaff should come in about $175. Nothing I have seen in the other brands to touch them for optics and price together. Apparently in the US Nikon and Leupold occupy about the same share of the market. Leupold is known for its service but Nikon has always been known for their optics no question. Ask any photographer. Have a Monarch Nikon 6x on my 308 and it is even better but more in the $375 range. Check out the Prostaff.

Oh, and has anybody ever seen the 452 Varmint with a match stock? A dealer in Montana told me they had a limited run so equiped... but he didn't have a (digital) picture to show me.
