Do you have a "Big Bore?"

My old 375 Browning has taken numerous Moose, White tail and Mulie bucks and a couple Pronghorn Antelope when I lived on the Prairies.
My 458 which I sold last year took a Bull Moose and a nice boar Grizzly several years ago by Tumbler Ridge.
My 404 Jeffery has taken a Yukon Moose and a couple Mountain Caribou.

Just finished my H&H last spring and took it out and killed a black bear with it using 380g Rhino bullets. Probably pound another one or two with it this spring.

I've only owned one, a Ruger No1-H Tropical in 416 Rem Mag. I hunted with it for three years, taking a moose, a mule deer, and a coyote. I had a chance on a good bear but muffed the shot, as it ran through some trees (I shot one tree and recovered bullet from another :D). It basically was too nice of a rifle to hunt hard with, so I sold it. It kicked hard as hell too :D with 400s @ 2400 f/s

Six .375's, 3 .405's, 3 450/400's, .416 Alaskan, .404, .425 Exp, 2 .450's, .470 NE, 50 Exp, 510 Wells, all used on NA game, all worked well and gave good results.
Some like to use small calibers, some like fast, I like big! .....But when the grizzly sticks his head up at 15 feet, they all seem small!!!

I've hunted with, .375 H&H, 375 Ackley, .416 Rem, .416 Rigby. Owned a couple of 378s, a couple of .458s and a 460WBY. Currently am down to a 375 H&H, 378 WBY and a .416 Rem. Carried them lots but only had a chance to use the .416 on one bull Elk. 300 Gr. X at 2900 fps. worked very well, breaking both shoulders and dropping him where he stood. Killed tons of game with 338-06, 338 win., 338-8MM, 340 WBY and the 338-378. Only two deer with the 338-378, both very dead.

I have a few big bores, 375 H&H, 416 Rigby, 404 Jeffery and 510 wells all on Ruger # 1's
Sharps 50/140 and a 8 bore percussion rifle and a Double 12 bore percussion
Carry the percussions for deer once and a while and carried the 375 for moose but didn't get a chance mostly paper besides

I also have a .444 Marlin that I purchased brand new last spring, took a bull elk with it this fall at 63 yds.

When I was out this year, I mentioned it would be fun to try and take an Elk with a big lever. Considering the ridicule I got from my ubermag partner, I almsot have to next season.

Brno ZKK-602 Engraved in 375 H&H I picked up from the EE, not sure if I'm going to scope it or not, hope to take it out this year. Hope the pic's arn't to big, there all I got of it right now.

Ya I have a BIGBORE in 375 ruger and have only shot a big chunk of ice with it. Took only three shot and there was nothing left to shoot. But it died quickly and it was my revenge for this winter. Made me feel better.

My 450 marlin took a black bear wasnt impressed with the ammo now ill have to hand load 300 grain noslers.

big bore hunts

used my 416 rigby in brno 602 to back up hunters in the YK. best shot on a medium sized yukon grizzly hit in the chest facing me at 200 yds after a fellow with a 300 win had shot it around the fringes ,making it very angry!
then he ran out of ammo
used a 350 gr speer flipped it right over backwards bang flop dead. big bullets work!
