In a rare moment, I just looked across the gun counter at Cabelas in Ottawa yesterday and there they were on a shelf: three boxes of 3" .410 shells, the first I've seen in about a decade I think. The bad news is that they were bismuth shot, priced at $80 a box. Believe me, I left them there.

5rnd or 10round box?

410 bismuth in the states starts at $60USD per 25
why didn't you buy those? :runaway:

Well I guess at bottom I'm what you could call a practical shooter and regard that gauge as effectively useless. I might have bought some for a friend but at the price I'm not that good a friend. I posted the info here for anyone interested.

I actually shot my first gamebirds with a 410, but I no longer hunt wirh a 410. I do however, enjoy shooting skeet with the 410, but I load my own. The big issue is going to be having to replace my AA hulls in a couple of years.

Challenger 2.5" #9 are selling for $29.99 for a box of 25 now. Last gun show I was at ppl were paying $50 a box for those same challengers. I like the challenger 410 hull for reloading
