Suggestions for 22lr scope

So I had a red dot in my Henry 22lr but I took it after about twenty rounds lol, didn’t care for it. So I was thinking of something different. I really like the bushnell ar optics 1-4 scope. But I believe they’re made for 223 and larger caliber. I like how they have the small arm that folds out to adjust for zoom and would like something like that.

Can the Bushnell 1-4 BDC Reticle be used on a 22lr and still be accurate within the factory bdc reticle ?? Or do I need to actually get myself a scope meant for 22 ??

The more power a scope is, the more important the parallax scope settings are... center fire usually set 150 yards or more... rim fire usually 50 yards.

A quality rim fire or air rifle scope is best... with the higher powered scopes having an adjustable objective.

The Bushnell 3-9x40 Rimfire with illuminated reticle is a great scope for the money. I picked one up recently for $136.

Well the indoor range I have access to is 25yrds, and with my Henry 22lr I don’t see myself shooting more then 50yrds really. So I figured maybe a 1-4x would be enough, all though a something up to 6x or 9x would allow for longer shots of ever needed. Especially if it has some parallex markings to help compensate for the extra distance

Have a look at the Athlon Heras 2-12X42. The parallax range caters to rimfire and air rifles. This is a SFP scope so you will not loose the info in the reticle at all mags. Glass is really good and should be bright so indoor use should be comfy. Target turrets so can dial for whatever your target use will be.

A very nice bridge between 'rimfire' scopes and higher mag target scopes. Comes in MOA or MIL.

For the performance, very well priced too.

PM or email if I can help.

Brownr - I have a Weaver 'legacy' 4x scope on a Savage 64, and at 50 yds I don't care for 4x. Off a bench-sled I'm lucky to get 1" groups, but I'm leaving that for short-range hunting. For 50-yd targets I prefer at least 24x, so you could get a 6-24x50 or such and have a low-mag choice for the closer targets - if you wish. My CZ 457 V-MTR has a Athlon Argos 8-34x and i wish I would have gone bigger . . . "Aim small . . . "

My recommendation would be to see whether you can find a used Leupold Vari-X 3-9 EFR scope. The "EFR" stands for "extended focus range," which allows parallax adjustment (via an adjustable objective) down to 10 m. It was designed, I think, with .22 rimfire in mind (although it could also be used on a centerfire rifle) and is just about the perfect scope for a .22 rimfire in my opinion. It is compact and very light--11.25" in length, 9.5 oz., with an objective OD of 1.74". So it looks right on a rimfire and doesn't add a lot of weight, and it can be focused (and be parallax-free) to any range you might shoot at with a .22. That particular model is no longer made, but they pop up on the used sites like this forum's EE. If you can’t find one, the current Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x33 EFR is available, although it's a little heavier than the Vari-X 3-9 EFR.

I just have to watch as I don’t have a lot of real estate so to speak on the top of my Henry h001 also has a dovetail receiver too. I have a 3-9 Simmons on my savage rifle it’s a good scope only thing I dislike is how hard the zoom is to turn for zooming in or out, hence why I was thinking one that has the small arm on it to zoom in/out on the fly easily. Also hoping to find one for around 300$

I just like a basic 3X9 variable. works great for me. a decent quality one . no garbage . at least $200 . Burris Redfield etc.

I have a Bushnell Banner 1.75-4.5 power that's been a very good scope for the money very clear for a cheaper scope.

I have looked at those as well and wondered how well they work and last myself, I’ve seen them in different powers like 2-6, 3-9, 1.5-4 etc etc

For shooting off-hand/plinking/hunting, I like the low power stuff.
- Favorites are older Leupold 1x4 or 1.5x5... Their newer ultralight FX 2.5 has me intrigued... just like the MTC and Immersive prismatic scopes... But not curious enough to spend the $$ for one

I have a 2.5x leupold on my Henry 45colt. Sweet little scope. Would like to find another one.

Fixed power small scopes are a lacking option in the market I feel.

The 4x leupold rimfire is another great one. Fine crosshairs too

AB.boy has the answer. You can find Airgun scopes with all the features you would want for 22lr - either target or hunting - for much less than 'name brand' "real" scopes. Try 'classifieds' on airgun sites for options.

I second the Bushnell Banner 1.75-4.5x32. I have two of them and you wont find a better optic at that price. Perfect for a henry, its not a benchrest rifle.

Hmm lots of choices lol I’ll have to do some digging around and see what I can find that I like, even check out air gun scopes and see what they’re like

Scoping a Lever is the 8th Deadly Sin.....jk. I understand why some might want/have to do it.
The added weight of a scope will make the already butt heavy Lever even more so which may throw off the balance under quick draw/fire.
If I had to....I would consider a compact low power scope with no front bell (eg VX-Freedom 1-4X20mm). This type will mount low and imo look less grotesque on a Lever :)
